United have acted a bit of a prick with their press releases, direct or indirect, this summer so far. I bet this is about Rooney.

Even SAF stressed that we wanted to keep Rooney, and advised him to think carefully about his future career; we've had United stalwarts past & present telling the media how important Rooney is, and advising him to stay; our new manager praised Rooney constantly for his efforts...and yet it's United that's at fault? Is it feck. This Chelsea deal has been in the works for ages, and Rooney doesn't know the meaning of the word loyalty.

It's going to be Garay. By all accounts that deal is in advanced stages while we're not reported to be even close to landing anyone else.

Really not sure who this is about. Not too excited if it's Garay, and I don't see why he would need to jump on a plane to leave Australia a few days early for him because it doesn't seem like it's 'urgent transfer business'. Something like Rooney would make more sense, but the club said it isn't Rooney related. There hasn't been any other stories really about any other incomings that seem plausible either. Hopefully its a big player we managed to keep under the wraps for a while, but I doubt it. More then likely is one of Baines or Garay, not too thrilled with either.

telling you, I've never ever known a transfer season like this one. It's huge entertainment, it's got highs and lows, rage and calmness, viciousness and gentleness. It's just like a soap opera...

A soap opera that inevitably ends in tears for us .. :(

theres somebody running round manchester airport with a white blanket over himself waiting on a plane landing from australia and its not even halloween

Its probably just Terry or Suarez...

It has to be a target that has become available and it has taken us by surprise. Otherwise surely woodward either wouldn't have gone to oz or would have arranged a meeting for afterwards?

It's either an incoming transfer or giving Rooney a contract.

Last time after everything came out in public Gill pretty much sat with Stretford all day to sort his contract out. Better to nip it in the bud and stop speculation.

I sincerely hope its a signing.

This is what I came to post a half hour ago but I was swept away on a wave of optimism and forgot to post.

Bashing F5 every ten seconds didn't help either, mind.

Is he a big enough name to fly back early, he was supposedly going home at the weekend, so couldn't it have waited?

Maybe this Messi business isn't a total joke...

How long is the flight? Will he have internet access on the plane to make email bids? Will he make those emails public to the Caf?

Questions questions.

Well the muppet in me says that the Garay deal has been in the pipeline for so long that surely it can't be that urgent... but I refuse to get carried away.

By this logic it's unlikely to be Fellaini either, as he has a release clause. Baines... it's not Woodward we need for him but Moyes.

Manchester United say [executive vice chairman] Ed Woodward's return from United's Australia tour to handle transfer negotiations has nothing to do with Wayne Rooney. It is to do with something else
Well at least it's to do with something. The royal baby perhaps?

Giggs may be involved. :nervous:

I was commenting that I reckon it's bollocks that Woodward is returning for an incoming transfer, in my opinion it's to iron out the best deal for selling Shrek.

Why would he fly back and get us all excited just for Leighton fecking Baines, Fellaini or Garay? They can be put on hold until deadline day, who cares.

To Madrid. Rooney + £30 million for Ronaldo
Then we buy Fabregas for £35 million

I'm really glad he included that second sentence.

Flying back for a deal already in the pipeline or in advanced stages before you left makes no sense. Else why leave in the first place? In my opinion this is something that's come to ahead, possibly suddenly, over the last few days.

Surely selling Rooney could wait too? Particularly until there's a concrete plan in place to replace him. Plus if Jose is to be believed he's going to be the main Chelsea target for the remainder of the window.

Ronnie's coming home!

Apparently United have told Chelsea they'll need to pay 80m to get him.

Barca have no reject our Cesc bid yet. I think that they have sent through a fax this morning saying that they want to work out a swap deal for Rooney and Cesc. Now that would be a triple score.

1. Get rid of that miserable fake haired cnut Rooney.
2. Bring that beautiful greasy haired bastard Cesc to OT
3. Rooney or Bust Jose? Stick that up your cock you special twat.
