Yeah actually I didn't notice the headline. He doesn't actually say that.Well, maybe but he didnt say it so don't know why he was cited/pharaphrased like he did.
Ambidexterity is something that tends to be overblown when it comes to footballers. Almost every footballer in the world has a foot they prefer for different actions. There are only a handful of footballers who are genuinely two-footed. Even Greenwood that is regarded as two-footed around here and shoots very well with his right foot, carries the ball mostly with his left foot, and passes mostly with his left foot.Fred is very one-footed. There's a big difference between rolling a 5 yard pass with your "wrong" foot and actually being able to do something of note with it! I bet of those 28% of passes Fred makes with his right foot the average distance is about 5m
To be fair though, most footballers are very one-footed and it's something that has always baffled me. Surely its a massive weapon to be able to use both and should be coached into every single player from a young age.
If anything one of Fred’s issues is he thinks that right foot is a wand He’s been watching too many Carrick videos thinking he can spray it side to side on either foot.Im fairly sure I saw a lad one day attempting to lay into fred and he started off by saying he’s painfully one footed
Confirmation he actually said it. Poor Robbie he was hoping for Arsenal news.
Must have been aiming for the corner flag. He wasn’t blessed with goal scoring or even shooting that ladWe played against Porto in some sort of pre season tournament and he played against us and took a shot from like 40 yards that absolutely rifled off Van de Sars post who had been left flat footed. The whole goal was shaking. This was my first memory of Anderson.
I think we got him the year after, I just can’t remember when he broke his leg.
Would have been a class player if he had the ability to go outside on his right. No chance he could be effective cutting inside every single time, it's too predictable. All this talk about a player preferring one foot more over the other makes sense. They should be 50/50 between both feet. This is why Robben never made it.
I am convinced he is definitely the right player for us.If the reports about him being our primary target in midfield is true, then I can't help but think we have identified the wrong player here. Being 18 years old is working in his favor. Locatelli could be available for a decent price, and it is frustrating that we aren't being linked to him.
A one footed winger vs a one footed midfielder is a different proposition. I’m not saying you should be 50/50, but if you watch him he’s not even 80/20. It’s why he supremely favours linking up with the right side of the pitch. It’s not like it will stop him from being a great player, but it’s still a criticism. But, again I’m only surmising this from his highlights, there will be times where if he had a decent right foot he could have made a pass, but instead he had to dribble through a player to get space and then pass it. Yes he has the ability to dribble past that player more often than not, but you’re also more likely to fail a dribble than a more simple pass. All this talk about a player preferring one foot more over the other makes sense. They should be 50/50 between both feet. This is why Robben never made it.

It’s not just the passing, watch any of these videos and it’s him controlling the ball, him making tackles. McTominay will always favour passing with his right, but he does more actions with his weaker foot. I’m not saying Camavinga won’t be great, but it’s just something I’ve noticed hence it being my ‘only’ gripe (well that and his passing range not being as expansive as you’d hope).Purely going off stats he passes with his left foot 92% of the time. Doesn't sound great, but McTominay is 93% right, Pogba 88% right, Matic 86% left. Fred's the outlier with only 72% left, but Camavinga isn't that much worse than the others (and better than Scott). Of course stats don't tell whether he's actually capable of playing good passes with his weak foot (like Pogba and to a lesser extent Fred) or only uses it for very basic passes (like Scott and Matic).

There is no chance Rennes can afford to let a player run his contract down, they have to get rid this summer unless the player is content to sit there and run his contract down.
Yes. The former is the best outcome bar none because the latter is what will happen when we try to replace him.Jeez that’s a wide range of playing styles to replace a single player. Not sure I’d want Rice as well as Camavinga, should be one or the other. The main benefit of either is an upgrade on McFred whilst providing the potential to go single pivot at times.
As for the others I’d take Grealish but he’d cost too much, I don’t think we’d be able to tempt Goretzka away this summer, and I’d rather give Donny a proper chance than splurge £40m on Saul.
I think the ideal scenario is Pogba re-signs or Barcelona realise they have to sell someone teams actually want and we can convince De Jong or Pedri to come to us, but that’s far too fanciful to actually happen. Think more likely it’d be no one or a Daniel James level signing to add depth.
Baba Yaga? God help us
Manchester United have explored his signing, but sources say any move would be complicated as Camavinga has lots of options. A switch to Real Madrid or Barcelona is believed to appeal to the player, who could yet decide to sit out his final 12 months and join a new club when finances across Europe have recovered further from COVID-19. Bayern Munich are interested and it is said there is “no rush” about reaching a conclusion this window.
I doubt they let him leave for free

If there are a handful of midfielders in the Premier League that uses their weaker foot more often and better than most, then Fred is one of them. You don't expect him to be raking sixty yarders consistently with his weaker foot, do you? It is called the weaker foot for a reason, but he uses his better than most.
I guess i’m the only one who is confident that we’ll sign him
Club may not have a choice.I doubt they let him leave for free
Rennes would have no incentive to play him in the first team in such a scenario, which would be very bad for the player's development. I think he'll leave and the best source of information on a potential move concerning Camavinga will come from France.Club may not have a choice.
I wonder who our alternatives are, if this go tits up.
