That’s not promising unfortunately. Clearly waiting for Spanish clubs to make a move. Surely Manchester United Is a more interesting option for him right now? Considering the financial difficulties Barcelona & Madrid are going through. Not to mention the rebuild Barcelona are facing.

Im sure he’s hoping to cut out the middle man and get straight to Spain but it’s not happening this summer. We will end up getting him.

Would have been a class player if he had the ability to go outside on his right. No chance he could be effective cutting inside every single time, it's too predictable.

Hahaha.

But on a serious note, how could people never stop Robben, even though we all knew what he was going to do!! What a player.

Barcelona is a fecking mess. Plus they are literally broke.
Real is aging and their results are deteriorating. Perez is jerking off on Mbappe.

So, why not go to United? Clearly we are on the rise.
Young, hungry squad with a huge chance for Camavinga to be a starting eleven player after couple of months of acclimatization. Obviously, United don't have Frenkie De Jong/Busquets/Pedri or Kroos/Modric/Casemiro/Valverde.
Ole's Tricky Reds seem much more promising of a team than current Real and Barcelona.

Rennes would have no incentive to play him in the first team in such a scenario, which would be very bad for the player's development. I think he'll leave and the best source of information on a potential move concerning Camavinga will come from France.
That’s the same with any player. For a player that’s a first team player, it very rarely happens that a player is ‘let to rot’ in the reserves when they run their contract down.

There is really very little chance that Cama will leave free at the end of his contract. If he does not find a contract this summer then he will extend for 1 year with a very low departure clause. He really loves the club and our owner takes this issue very seriously. Pinault is quite capable of punishing the kid by depriving him of land for 1 year but I'm sure Cama won't want to harm Stade Rennais. As I have already said with an offer to 30M Rennes will wait, in the hope of having a higher bid. At 40M he leaves immediately. It's up to you;) His style of play is made for PL

If Pogba goes that will free up more funds and I think our first port of call with be Rice. Outside of that we may test Leicester for Ndidi, but would be more likely getting Bissouma out of Brighton. We could put in a cheeky bid for Locatelli, but he seems to have his heart set on Juve. There are also a couple other options from the French league who aren't on Camavinga's level as a prospect, but could warrant some consideration.
I'm not very enthusiastic about any of those options, let's hope we land Camavinga.

It sounds like he's not that keen on joining us and will only come if other options don't materialise.

That's not clear at all.

If he prefers Braca or Madrid, I don't think it's a good idea for United to sign him just because this is currently his only option.

I think it would be great timing for him to join Real Madrid this year or the next.

Real need to phase out Modric eventually, having a midfield combination Camavinga/Valverde/Kroos/Casemiro looks pretty damn enticing.

If Manchester only had some sun like Madrid or Barcelona. How more easy would be to sign some players.

If the lad is waiting for a move to Spain then fair enough.
Super talented player but IF he doesn't feel fully committed to joining us then move on.

Agreed.

No way he'd leave on a free. Rennes are not that stupid. He's not an etablished player yet, not playing for a year and he'd be much much less attractive. He's not that stupid either.

Now the question simply is who would pay Rennes their 40m and give the best terms for him, particularly his supposed game time.

Last thing we want is another Di Maria. So if he doesnt really want to be here, no point in getting him.

I really don't think we will be signing him sadly.

If PSG want him, he will go there easily instead of us unfortunately.

I think he may have preferred Madrid when Zidane was in charge but that might not be the case now. I do agree that they are going to need to replace both Modric and Kroos within the next year or two but the main problem is that they are strapped for money. They want to wait to bring in Mbappe and that is going to cost money either this summer or on a free next year with probably big wages.

exactly, this is the year where can pip them to signings that we may typically have lost out on.

Camavinga singed with ICM Stellar Sports in december. An UK based agency representing mainly players in the PL. Why would he do that if he was not keen on a move to the PL? Might mean less than I think, but most of the players they represent either are or end up in the PL.

Konate, who was very keen on the PL, went for Stellar too.

That's sad if he doesn't really fancy moving here as much as those Spanish teams. But come think of it, he is only 18, and large part of his teenage years we are actually quite shite as a football club while Real and Barca were dominating everywhere. Not that difficult to understand if that is his perspective.

Im fairly sure I saw a lad one day attempting to lay into fred and he started off by saying he’s painfully one footed :wenger:
It's one of those things that let me know to stop paying any real attention to what the poster is saying as they are obviously letting a huge bias impact how they view things. Smalling being slow is another good example. Both are quite blatantly not true but I've seen numerous people claim both.

Fred is very one-footed. There's a big difference between rolling a 5 yard pass with your "wrong" foot and actually being able to do something of note with it! I bet of those 28% of passes Fred makes with his right foot the average distance is about 5m
As somebody else said, if anything Fred believes in his weak foot a bit too much and sometimes tries to do too much with it. He makes plenty of mid-range passes with his right foot, particularly out wide to the fullback/winger.

It sounds like he's not that keen on joining us and will only come if other options don't materialise.

That report also says he's in no rush to move (is presumably keen on a big signing on fee for joining Real/Barca for free next summer, Bayern maybe his backup). Given all of that, there's next to no chance of him playing for United anytime in the near future.

Heard some kids some weeks back discussing top tier clubs. We weren't mentioned. Very sad.
However, I think the stories that he isn't keen on moving here might be fabricated.

We've been a bit of a non-entity on the international stage for over eight years now (a couple of Europa League finals aside, I suppose, although the latter wasn't exactly a great advert for the club!)

If you're under the age of about 15, you'll probably be unable to remember ever having watched a decent United side. The kids will all be City fans!

It's transfer strategy, giving them warning so they are forced to sell for cheap. We got this lads!! Chooo Chooo

I'm not quite sure how people arrive at a conclusion that he doesn't want to move to United. He's 18 years of age and knows that at the age of 19, he'll be a free agent and he'll have the pick of the clubs he'd want to sign for. It's understandable but Rennes want to SELL him right NOW as he isn't planning on signing a new deal and they need to get an amount for him as he's their most valuable asset. With Pogba almost certain to leave for PSG and I don't see PSG buying another midfielder, Camavinga isn't going to PSG (first choice). With that being said, with Varane coming in and I'm assuming Ole's ability to sell the project to Camavinga, I can see him coming here. Losing out on Camavinga for 35m pounds will be a repeat of Bellingham situation. I think the United board will want to make waves this summer. They've started it off with Sancho. Varane and Camavinga to follow and with Pogba gone, I would imagine another midfielder should be coming in.

This is the Anderson I thought we were getting. Video from 2007 when we signed him. Revel in all its old school low resolution glory.

Yes I remember that friendly game and it got me searchign videos like this. Think his leg break wasa bigger deal recovery wise than thought as he wasnt the same player thoguth we used him differently.

I really think from what the scouts were saying, the club thought they had signed the best young midfielder in the world who would be a huge huge player for us.

So in that sense he was a major disappointment. Personally, I always loved ANderson anyway, not just for how fun he was. I actually think he was very good the first 18months or so, just wanted him to grab games more by the scruff of the neck and control them....sadly rather than progressing he declined bit by bit and did well to last as long as he did here.

Camavinga for me is exciting as he can become every bit the player we hoped ANderson would become...after his first season here. Camavinga can take the game by the scruff of the neck I feel. NO guarantees with wonderkids of course as Anderson to a degree is an example.....but why are so many not super excited about this potential exciting is beyond me

Not reserves, but a player just recently was sidelined at Lille due to his contract situation. He's now moved to Leicester.

The word was Fergie’s brother came back and said he’s better than Rooney.

Not worried at all about the media spin, just keeping expectations down. We wont sign him in July anyway, August it is. They cant fool me.

The amount of people suggesting Camavinga wouldn't be a starter is bizarre. Regardless of his age he's already far better than Fred or McTominay. He might get rotated every now and then for a rest but he would be firmly 1st choice in midfield for us.

What’s that based off? He’s been playing in the french league. Fred has been staring for Brazil and pushing his team into the final of the Copa America whilst also staking a starting Lance for United in the best league in the world.

let’s not go overboard on Camavinga based off YouTube highlights my. Certainly looks a very decent prospect

Might have a little something to do with Neymar. . .

This starts for Brazil b*llocks! Is Saka better than Grealish now?

I’ve not seen enough of the Rennes kid but the cult of Fred is honestly befuddling.

Start or not immediately is irrelevant as he gives you quality depth in a spot of need and proves himself. If he's doing well enough to start then Ole will put him in there. Hope Ole isn't gun shy about buying him after Donny struggled to make his mark last season.

Fred is hardly making waves for Brazil. He starts games along with Casimiro, but he's very average so far, but to be fair almost all the team also is.

I’m sure Rennes don’t see it as a “no rush” situation. They will be wanting to get this done asap and move him on as quickly as possible so they can get a replacement in.

Funny how every different press story people buy into and its he is coming, he isnt coming.

I half expect some of these stories are even coming from agents or Rennes to the press, they want to drum up interest. And it will hardly be any surprise if a few clubs are in for him as he is one of the best youngsters in the world. Especially if he really is available for £25-30m not too many clubs would be ruled out at that fee that seem keen, maybe only Barcelona.

And the "if he prefers Spain and doesnt want to come we should move on"....though I partly agree with people there, lets not kid ourselves, I think the majority of young players in Europe would love to play for those two above others.

I think this is one that should be a priority, get a fee agreed quickly and then lets see if we can sign him....otherwise, then move on. He is my number one choice personally, but there are lots of possible midfield options and I can think of nothing worse than us missing out on signing one taking so long on one player and then a possible rush at the end of the window like we had at right wing last year

He was the "New Ronaldinho" because he played for Gremio. And then Douglas Costa was the "new Anderson" because he also played for Gremio

If wiki is correct he has 3 more games for Brazil than this guy, who most people wont remember or have heard of

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Éverton_Ribeiro

Not every player playing for Brazil, even those starting, are really good and memorable players. They have weaker areas just like other countries. So yeah he's starting for Brazil but has some way to go to match Arsenal's Gilberto Silva even who played 93 games for Brazil and was clearly a core member of the team for a long time
