Good riddance you absolute wanker (I bet he's reading this).
How do you mean?
Ayye I suppose you're right, he did seem very capable when it came to exploiting our football club on behalf of the leeches who 'own' it.
When it comes to running a football club however, the guy was a disaster from dreary beginning to hilarious end.
Hoisted by his own petard as they say. Serves the fecker right.
There are other Sky presenters you know!
You only mentioned him though.
Well obviously that's just speculation and I don't get a ton of Sky over here but what I did see yesterday was a concerted effort by a media outlet to denigrate the notion, which suggests to me that they felt their football based revenue stream was under significant threat.
To be clear, the suggestion above was that every pundit I saw on Sky was fully against the Super League.
Before that you were going on about him. To be fair, you cleared it up when you responded to others that you simply just don't like him. Fair enough. I didn't see those comments before I quoted.
He used to work for JP Morgan, who were funding the superleague. they are all complicit in this. its like a poltergeist haunting us again 15 years laterHis plan? The Glazers were the vice chairmen of the european super league. Ed wasn't pulling any strings here, he was just nodding his head, because that's what they paid him to do. Nod and say yes like a good little company stooge.
Lots of these clubs have ties to major banks and financial institutions. Its Ed Woodward, not Gordon Gecco! He used to work for JP Morgan, who were funding the superleague. they are all complicit in this. its like a poltergeist haunting us again 15 years later
Yes, most likely.
Neil Ashton is sitting on the toilet next to Ed, who is soaking in a hot bath, reading these comments to him.Good riddance you absolute wanker (I bet he's reading this).
Think we are all hoping for the third scenarioI do hate Woodward as much as you all. But I believe there might be a different perspective and context to his resignation. There are 3 possible scenarios in my view:
Scenario 1:
The first one is that the ESL was his and Perez's brainchild, and as soon as it tanked he quit. He probably didn't expect this severe backlash and feels like his credibility and image has been tarnished. Nothing worse than a public humiliation of this kind, tarnished image, etc. etc. He clearly would not be welcome at the UEFA table any more. This is more of a firing than a resignation if that's the case. Next: Glazers stay on, and hire someone to restore that image.
Scenario 2:
This wasn't his brainchild but rather of the Glazers (with Perez and the other American owners). He was always their right-hand man from the start, and was only following orders till now. Mind you, it was indeed Joel Glazer who was on the board for ESL, and not Woodward. He was after all a paid employee. Woodward probably warned them against this public backlash and possible repercussions the ESL could have. So his resignation could be a statement to the Glazers in an "I told you so" manner. He probably does not want to be the face of this failed coup, and would rather want the Glazers to face the questions. The Glazers would also want to leave soon in this scenario.
Scenario 3:
The more obvious one for me. That both the Glazers and him were in it together and he is the first scapegoat for this failed project. This would also mean that the Glazers would also be considering leaving the club sometime soon. Their reputation has been permanently damaged and I don't think there is a way back for them.
Luckhurst and Jose's love story
The man is unable to write something that doesn't demonstrate his idiocy. Clinging on Mourinho in 2021 is next level.
