Ed Woodward has resigned from Manchester United | 2024: Returns to football

The Glazers found their scapegoat.

Sure.

However the Glazers have just revealed their soft underbelly here. They are vulnerable to intense criticism coming from fans. We should exploit that

Congratulations, dear friends!!
I am genuinely happy for you; this is great news.

I wasn't going to say anything, guest on the forum etc., but the guy was absolutely horrible. You deserve better.

This doesnt really matter until the Glazers are removed as well.

It could actually be a even worse guy replacing him while they are in charge.

Profit profit profit

I said this to my friends over WhatsApp the second Chelsea was rumoured to pull out. There’s no way that he could continue with his job if we pulled out of ESL. He’s already had fans visit his house to pester him a couple of years back. Unfortunately, and let’s remember he is human (and a snake), he probably isn’t safe if he remained at United.

Woodward was a blight on the club but don't for a second forget that the people who put him there have been and remain, the real problem. He was just a convenient blunt instrument.

Spot on. The fall guy. Bigger problem is the owners.

The European Super League is the best thing that happened in the history of football. He is just the fall guy.

Wow that's an unexpected bonus:)

This is a ‘where were you when’ moment. I wonder if he’ll be given a new identity/anonymity

Knew there was something happening when my son just came out of his room and thundered down two flights of stairs rather than texting me

I actually not really sure if Glazers can stay after this aswell. Time will tell, but this is big. Are they getting cold feet from Johnson?

They are the owners...unless someone stumps up the cash, then they're staying. He was a pawn of the owners for years and that position will still report to the owners. The person may have changed, but nobody knows how it'll impact the club going forward, especially if they appoint a newb like Woodward was when he started.

Hmm this could be the end of the Glazers. They can't get the money they need now so their investment has peaked in value.

darren fletcher is the most senior employee of manchester united
