For the record - Davy Klaasen cost £24 million 3 years ago - so if we are paying only £40 million - that is a great price

Love Ajax. They seem to sell players fast especially players that have been good to them.
They've always been one of the classier big clubs in Europe. Don't think we've ever had an issue or silly games with them when it comes to negotiating a deal.

This is a massive two fingers up at those who believe that the club don't have a plan.
VDB was hardly mentioned with United until a few days ago, yet here we are on the brink.
Maybe, just maybe, the club does have a plan and is actioning on that plan.

Looks like this is done! Glad that we seem to be getting this over the line with minimum fuss.

Also, like the overall approach on the deal. 4 days of speculation and signing done. Perfect way to avoid the transfer circus we had become in the past.

Some signs that Woodwood is learning from past mistakes, and that we can work on more transfers than one at the same time.

Basically what gets them these talented players in the first place — sign for us over others, we’ll give you game time at a high level and consistent European competitions; and in return we’ll let you go for a respectable fee/after a certain number of years of service.

Ajax are always very fair when doing business. Classy club.

Well - they can afford it when they sell at least 2-3 players each year for a total of €70-80 million - but de Jong and de Ligt certainly werent cheap (€160 million in total). If this deal goes through - they have sold players for over €500 million in just 4 years :)

Ladies and Gentlemen!! We got him.

His YouTube compilations are full of goals  so now we have 3 Goal scoring midfielder. We are going to outscore the opponent. Defence is overrated anyway

But it's the same with Dormund. Except they play hardball pretty much all the time and yet players still go there.

Never understood: What do Ajax and Dortmund do with all their cash? They get so much.

I don’t think Dortmund are that similar, honestly. It’s only a recent thing for them. Ajax have historically always been a club with massive youth roots and this sort of mentality.
