The old CDMCBGK hybrid system!

What like CDM/CB dont exist like Dier did for Spurs?

Literally if theres a false number 9 - what is the equivalent of a false CB?

A CB who plays further forward and able to drop back to create a back 3.

In that diamond- we play with a false 9 and a false CB.

11th player is the GK.

I can only see VdB coming if Pogba is off. If VdB replaced Pogba and we could use some of the excess funds to buy Sancho that would be a great summer. I think VdB would be a great fit here. Not saying VdB is a direct replacement in terms of talent, but if a deal to sell Pogba has been agreed, he’s a great player to bring into a midfield 3.

Gone very quiet this one now. I think we have a predeal of some sorts, but waiting to see if Villa is getting relegated/moving their price before committing.

Relax mate it was just a daft joke.

Yeah could be a scenario where we only decide to commit to signing him if Villa somehow stay up which will mean we get priced out of a move for Grealish and have to look elsewhere.

If thats the price, I would be astonished if loads of sides don't try their hand.

Chelsea ?:nervous:

Think Ajax originally wanted the same as RM was prepared to give, namely €50/£45 mill.

Edit: backlog post, soz

If he can also play in a pivot like some say then he would have been useful yesterday. As proven in the first half In Pogba's absence playing Bruno with Fred and Mctominay in a pivot against a team sitting back, we would struggle to break them down. One of Bruno or Pogba alone is not enough to break a low block. If one of them gets injured we would still struggle against teams like Tottenham that parks the bus..

Perhaps we wouldn't have struggled in the first half if we had this

.......Bruno.......

VdB........ Mctominay

He could play in that role, but I think it would benefit us more if we had someone more athletic that also had good distribution to play that role for us imo.

VdB is a good player though and would be a good signing.

Like who? Fabian Ruiz comes to mind. Just seen highlights though. Also thought VdB had good distribution and quite athletic

Someone who's athletic, quick and can distribute to a good level. Doesn't have to be at Pirlo or Busquets level as far as distribution goes either. And also can play both the #6 and #8 roles which has been reported as one of the criterion for a deeper more defensive minded midfielder.

I'd personally go with Zakaria but would happily take Partey too. Camavinga would be the dream.

Good choices.

There seems to be a real confidence from one of the reddit guys that we have chosen VDB over Grealish.

He is even talking about flights to Biggin Hill from Ajax. Apparently potential transfer targets come there when going to Utd's London office.

I am not saying there is anything in this at all because he could be wrong but thought was worth sharing it anyway.

Don't trust them. We had similar posts in reddit last summer as well (I don't remember the player that was linked)

Was a bit weird but yesterday Ian Wright said that he’d heard something about Van de Beek and United but didn’t elaborate.

I’d avoid those Reddit ITK people, if I were you mate. Bunch of grown men roleplaying on the Internet.

Just saw that video where Ian Wright mentioned this lad in passing, but promising. Odd name to bring up really, you'd have thought Grealish would be the name on English pundits lips.

I laughed when the main man of that Muppetiers subreddit was American, just summed it all up for me, they're chancers. It's fun and entertaining, but I get the feeling its mostly just bored men craving a sense of importance.

Also, when this link was last reported a few weeks ago... wasn’t the source the best possible source for anything Ajax related?

From Amsterdam. Ajax isn't a place.

Can you post that Ian Wright video?

I just seen the have a patreon that people are actually paying for too  One thing being a grown man role playing, but imagine being a grown man idolising said grown men role playing.

It’s always so obvious when they’re full of shit because they claim to know everything. They somehow have inside knowledge of the finance department, the scouting department, the acquisitions, and coaching staff. You could actually legit work at United and would still know less than these people.

One guys even made the bold claim of us signing three youth players from around the world. Something we do every season:lol: almost as funny as when people were loving that Spoofex guy for saying Gribbin was being released 4 months after it was talked about on the Caf. People are fecking strange.

I like this guy considering the way he fought his way to getting in to this position.

Sancho is a talent but looks like he got some disciplinary problems, I know both plays at different positions but in general I prefer players like VanBeek / Ferran Torres / Grealish

Im following their tweet handle, and they seem to be spot on for Sancho so far, by that I mean at least 1-2 weeks ahead of media/briefings.

I would prefer Sandro Tonali rather than DVB. Both Bruno and Paul can play playmaker. We lack a player as Pogba backup (Fred is better defensively but not so good on distribution) Tonali can be better option. It would be if we sign him and loan him to AC Milan will be good for both the player and us since Milan club is struggling financially and we will have player who is in on starting 11

Yeah they have been very accurate with the Sancho stuff

Sorry but we've all known about Sancho since last summer. Really not hard to just pretend things are happening behind the scenes and stall on it.

We know it'll happen, so i'd want to see something a bit less obvious before I even started believing they might know stuff.

Don’t understand this one bit. Why on earth sign a very good player like Sandro Tonali and then loan him straight away to Milan? Who gives a shit if they are struggling financially. We should focus on ourselves.

But nothing has happened?
That sub has their ITKs posting Real Madrid news etc.
If they bluffed the odd United story then they might get away with it but I was reading Isco news on there as if it were Romano himself.

I joined that discord to see wtf they were on about now. I’m convinced it’s a bunch of 12 year olds but feck me the main lad looks like he’s in his 30’s? Sad state of affairs, that.

That is a very fair point
