The biggest depth problem we have is currently McTominay is backup for Casemiro when he isn't a DM. CB if we sell Maguire we'll likely replace anyway. But #10, wing positions, fullbacks don't have depth issues.
I was for it if I'm remembering right because he was so damn good in the Champions League at times, but in hindsight, Klaassen struggling at Everton and doing okay elsewhere was probably the sign that this was a bad idea.

you would think that our standard contract would allow some sort of release clause, that if you aren't performing to expectations that you can be released. or you only receive full pay on completion of a certain amount of games. granted, some very elite players might not accept this but you can't build an elite team with sub-standard players we can't move on, and dvb was not an elite player when we signed him.

That ship sailed long ago. Van de Beek isn't robust enough to play the deeper role and isn't creative enough to play the advanced role, he has to move on now.

No and no. He is not a CM by any definition and has already been tried in Bruno's role where he was marginally less influential than the corner flag. I am not going to be ridiculous and say he has no talent but he is miles away from being good enough for any role with this United team and would offer less then Mainoo or even Savage at this point. His value is tanking and is not going to increase as long as he is here so we need to get rid now.
