Essentially CNN hosted a free prime time rally for a fascist sex offender. For us it's an extended version of the Two Minutes Hate but providing this nutter a megaphone and letting him run wild didn't play like that to the wider public in 2016 and it's not gonna play like that now.

CNN did a mini focus group after, which included 3 women. 2 said they were mildly uncomfortable with his rape case. The other said she didn’t care because women have been known to lie about these things.

Yeah those who accuse the new CNN leadership of being ideologically motivated are wide off the mark, they are purely profit driven. They enjoyed their biggest ratings during the Trump era, this is nothing but a cynical move to draw in as big an audience as possible.
I'd argue this doesn't change anything. The people that rightfully hate Trump are not surprised, and the people that were already on Team Trump will continue to be so. If anything the more negative attention Trump gets, the easier it could be for the Democratic nominee, as normal, non-political or centrists might be motivated to ensure he doesn't retake the office.
But it's a sad indictment of America, that probably tens of millions of people are going to vote for this animal. Hopefully age catches up with him soon, so he either dies or becomes incapable of causing more harm.
