“Any offer of a certain level would have to be still looked at by the club,” the Everton manager said when asked about Calvert-Lewin’s future. “We are in a better position because of player trading and how much we have lowered the wages but it is not solved. Therefore there would still be a moment where the big people at the club get a phone call and then it is down to them.

“I can give a football opinion. I think we would all go: ‘We don’t need to be selling anyone at the minute’ but that doesn’t mean that happens. The powers that be are still not in a position where they can go: ‘We are fine, we can start bankrolling the club and we are going to sign players,’ as you can quite obviously tell.”

According to an Everton ITK we have been in contact with United regarding players on loan. Could be a deal to be done on the swap here.

TOD podcast Whitwell seemed to imply that we have been looking at a striker still and seemed to hint at some sort of surprise this weekend, but without any details, I do wonder if I’m putting two and two together and making five.

Also DCL played more minutes than Hojlund last season in the prem….

He’s the obvious one but I couldn’t see us loaning him out. I seem to recall there was rumoured Everton interest in Hannibal when he went to Sevilla on loan but his contract length also makes a loan unlikely.

How reliable is this ITK, also can't help being worried about how easily he picks up injuries in last few years

The Bobble is the most reliable ITK out there. He's privy to information and is pretty much always spot on. Apparently we contacted both you and Chelsea regarding players on loan.

I listened to that podcast and it made me think that we might try and re-sign Welbeck...why not? Already brought Evans back :lol:

Wout is up for sale by Burnley. His wages shouldn't be a problem and he understood ETH’s playing style and put in some big performances eg Barcelona.

Absolutely plausible, more I’m wracking my brains as to who it might be. I guess McTominay, Hannibal, Eriksen and Lindelof are the ones that spring to mind. But complicated by their contract length on all. We shall see.

Interesting to see if we do pursue an experienced striker.

:lol: I know that you're looking for another striker and we are long term admirers of Broja. Already been on the phone to Chelsea about loan players. I'm wondering if a cheeky PSR deal can be arranged.
 
I've not followed it but is Broja being talked of as a replacement for DCL?

He's clearly not as good and the prices I'm seeing look similar.

Why would DCL leave Everton where he is a first choice striker to join Man Utd as third choice?
 
He is, statistically, one of the worst finishing strikers in the league. He has quite badly underperformed his Xg for a while now and in no way should be an option.
