d)However,they were concerned that they probably needed to sell Nesta also to balance the books...so they needed a replacement.They asked to have Stam in part exchange.MUFC agreed.The stuff about the Stam book was a pretext .The MUFC board were concerned about fan reaction if they were seen to have to sell players,they agreed with Lazio a 3 month delay before they could sign Stam.Cynical,I know, but my view is that Stam was sold effectively the moment Veron was purchased.

e)Veron did not want to come.He liked Rome,He liked Italy.As an Argentinian,he did not find it easy to accept moving to an English club.He is a professional,and so does his best.But he would feel better without Keane still in the side and doesn't feel at home in England.
