Television Dexter

Just happy that Hannah survived. I thought they were setting it all up for a Dexter and Debra love affair.

This season is far, far better than the last one. There is a gulf between between this and any of the first four, but that stands. That first kill on Victor's assassin was ridiculous, as was the casual nature with which they just dumped a body in broad daylight. Then there was the time taken for Victor to die (it went from what looked like afternoon to day) after they both deemed it impossible for him to be saved. But still... at least there are interesting plot lines at hand. The Dexter/Hannah thing is decent, and the shit's really going to hit the fan sometime soon by the looks of it with La Guerta's investigation.

There was very, very little to talk about from last season. Brother Sam was essentially so pointless for someone meant to be so integral, and the whole thing just became about Dexter's attitude towards religion and friendship. Not much actually happened outside of the main guy Dexter was chasing.

Hopefully LaGuerta figures out Dexter now. I want him to be found out and have to go on the run.

The "Phantom" :wenger:

Yep that doesn't look that interesting at this point.

Seems fairly clear they are pointing towards that fire lab guy as being the phantom. Seems the Issac part is over, just when it was looking really intriguing with dexter and Issac working together. Only the guy that killed issac being the loose end.

Looks like we are going to get the pressure put on dexter from lagurta's (no idea how to spell her name) investigation finally. Though saying that we have been waiting for that to develop for a long time. I get the feeling it could be dragged out until the final episode of the season for some reason.

How many episodes left in this season?

That's almost certainly going to be the season ending cliff-hanger, much like Deb finding out in last season's finale.

There's 3 episodes left.

Another good episode. Was sad to see Isaak going so soon but it was a decent way to write him off. The worry now is what will happen in the remaining episodes.

Good episode.

I was hoping Isaac would last a few more episodes but that was a good way to write him off the show. Although, if he lived from the time of being shot to night time on Dexter's boat, maybe he could've been saved?

'The Phantom' just sounds like they need someone to fill in the episodes until LaGuerta finds out about Dexter in the finale.

"I miss you." "Likewise." I hope they keep Hannah until the final season and do not abruptly get rid of her like they did with Lumen, especially after she survived this episode.

Caught up. Sort of wish I watched it a slower pace, now I can't just watch the next episode whenever I want...

Surprised Isaak died in episode 8, not sure what'll entail the next 3 episodes other than La Guerta's pursue of Dexter.

Episode 9. Looks like that Phantom thing will continue, and looking at the preview for the next episode
they're introducing Hannah's father
. I can't see the Quinn storyline ending either so there'll still be something going on in the remaining episodes along with the storyline with LaGuerta.

This is something I have never watched, read a few good reviews about it. Is it worth d/ling the 7 seasons?

No offence, but this question pops up every other page it feels like. Basically, a show that gets 60 pages on this forum is very much "worth it" if you like the style.

A good episode although like most of us I wanted Isaac a bit more in the show. Anyway now it seems that LaGuerta is near finding the truth and could be interesting to see where show is going on. I also would like to see Hannah surviving the season.

Just started watching the latest episode..

Anyone else notice that the scar on Isaak's head looks like someone childishly drew a cock and balls?

I've noticed she has rabbit teeth though.

Yeah noticed this yesterday as well, her two front teeth are rabbit-y. However, I think that only adds to her charm, they're not goofy teeth by any means, it's just something that adds to her innate cuteness. She's really pretty, and I don't even like blonds usually.

rumours going about that Doakes is making a return as the final episode of this season is called "Surprise Motherfecker"

Im not buying it one bit. Doakes got blown away to shit. People making a fuss about this burn killer and then reading into the fact they never id'd Doakes (or did they?)

I call bullshit and would be fecking ridiculous especially when you remind yourself of his death...

If Doakes comes back it'll be as bad as "Heroes" and their never-dying characters
Did Heroes end up finishing. I stopped watching some time around the beginning of the fourth season? Would it be worth picking back up and finishing watching?

Finally got around to watching it last night.

I thought it was good, by the standards of the show in the last two seasons, mainly because there was a lot of focus on Isaac, who Ray Stevenson plays brilliantly despite being given cheesy as shit lines all the time. I was seriously disappointed when they killed him off though, because I'm not sure what the hell I have left to look forward to now. Quinn? Yawn. La Guerta? Meh. Hannah? Ok.

The kill in the shooting range was, of course, fecking retarded. Broad daylight, you probably have to sign in (you need a license), and everybody there could see Dexter in the one next to him. Seriously, what a load of utter bollocks.

What's the point of this Phantom thing now?

Speculation:
I hope it's not something stupid like Doakes coming back, seeing as they were all burnt to death and shit. If he actually comes back I will be disgusted. It'll probably be a relative of his who found out the truth and is seeking vengeance.
Either way it bores me, introducing this entirely new thing out of nowhere with only 3 episodes left.

In reply to Cina's speculation

It won't be. I'm sure Doakes will be back the same way Harry is on the show. He'll probably speak to Dexter in that form. As for the Phantom, they're hinting at it being the weird arson guy which means it won't be him.

Did Heroes end up finishing. I stopped watching some time around the beginning of the fourth season? Would it be worth picking back up and finishing watching?

It ended after it's fourth season, which was nonsensical garbage.

Heroes was like a super-condensed version of the same path Dexter has taken. Brilliant start, and then a sudden drop into utter shit. Not a nice downward curve, but a sharp collapse. In Heroes case it was Season 1 that was great, with everything else utter shit; with Dexter the collapse happened between Seasons 4 and 5.

If Doakes came back, I will quit watching the TV Show.

Or most likely, I will be very unhappy, but still watch it.

Erik King is definitely in the final episode and he will be appearing in Harry/Brian form.

Such a tease..
Interview with Erik King.. probably nothing but don't watch if you don't want 'spoiling'

if he's still alive, the show has gone full retard. They found the body and it was identified by the dental record..

like people have said he's probably either a flashback or 'dark passenger' switch up

Interesting episode.

Turns out the writers are not as predictable as I thought and the little twist with the Phantom was a nice change. Dexter calling Debra was somewhat out of character given his 'needs', but with LaGuerta now closing in on him it's probably too late for him to change his ways and get away without taking responsibility for the past.

Next week's episode looks fantastic.

Getting good. Sort of an anti-climax with the phantom thing I thought, but I'm really looking forward to the next episode now. Want Hannah to get through this series, but I wouldn't bet on it!

I called the Phantom thing, it was clearly never the arson cop. As soon as they panned round to the other guy in the station I said to myself it was him, otherwise why give him any lines and show his face that purposefully?

Decent episode nonetheless. If I was in a moaning mood I'd have all sorts of shit to say about that Quinn scene but I really can't be arsed.

They're not gonna buy that Quinn story though are they ? The police has to make this gun shot residue test to see if someone really used a gun or not and once/if they do it on that Koshka prick ...
It wouldn't be beyond the writers to make Miam metro look like a bunch of fecking amateurs

Hopefully this is the way they'll get rid of Quinn from the show. Wouldn't surprise me either, as it'd be quite similar to the way Doakes was fired.

The Phantom-thingy was clearly a way to get Dexter out of his code. It's not his Dark Passenger running the show anymore and people don't need to be killers - he now decides himself on who to kill.
Speculation on what that means
Maybe a way to let him kill LaGuerta if he starts feeling the heat?

LaGuerta is definitely on the right track now and it'll be interesting to see if she comes up with some solid evidence against Dexter. So far it's all circumstantial. Will also be interesting to see how Dexter handles it. We haven't really seen him concerned about the whole thing for a long time now. Will he go after LaGuerta or just sit back and hope that he covered his tracks well enough? Her theory is getting more and more solid so I don't really think he can afford letting too many people know about it.

Dexter is dead to me. I'll watch this last season of rigor mortis and then I'll wash my hand of this absolute feck up of a series. May the writers of this shitfest burn in hell

When was this?

Didn't like the episode. Dexter getting rid of his dark passenger is interesting though.
