Television Dexter

The new detective is like the Frank Grimes of Miami Metro. I can see him going mad with frustration at their ineptitude.

I like his character though. One thing a lot of TV shows do is force characters. That Officer Mansong or whatever her name is from last season pissed me right off.

I think his character is good too. I just hope they don't decide to turn him into some freaky serial killer or something which seems to happen with every single character they ever introduce to the show.

I bet Deb will be taken out of the show this season because of her and Michael C Halls divorce.

The divorced? Not surprised by that at all but I don't think they'll axe Deb, Dexter has to be caught by her in my opinion. I can't (or don't want to) see any him going down in any other way.

I'm probably wrong, but I think at the end of this season:

Debra will die. Dexter made that 'pact' with God this week to save Harrison so in return there will be a 'sacrifice' and I think Debra will be that with Travis 'sacrificing' her at the end.

Here's what disappointed me in the last episode:

I was hoping that the intern turned out to be some sort of weird serial killer groupie who Dex has to kill at some point or something along those lines. I suppose it could happen but I was finding that little storyline pretty interesting.

I think there's differently more to it, it would seem too weird if it stops right there.

The most annoying thing about this show is that everyone seems to fancy Deb, despite the fact she's feckin weird looking.

I completely missed the 5th series, despite really liking the 4th. Only just watched the finale of it on someone's Sky last night. It was meh, but the reason I felt compelled to post in here was because I am gobsmacked, flabberghasted, astounded at how Debra is still in this show, and still the dappyest bitch on television, and yet still somehow tolerated?...Seriously, dont you lot just want to punch her in the face at every opportunity?

She's the most incompetent, emotionally fragile, flakey, appallingly naive and useless detective in the history of crime detective shows...and that's quite frankly a fecking monumentous achievement considering CSI are popping out shows with unbelieveable female detectives like they're going out of fashion...Which they are. But that still doesn't seem to be stopping anyone from fecking making the things!

At some point in this thread I wrote this....

...I still can't stand Deb....At least in the first season she was a shit police woman getting help from her brother and clearly just perceived as such..now she's a detective?...I mean come on. She's the shittest, most unbelievable police person, let alone detective, ever put on screen...and I'm including Inspectors Clouseau and Gadget in that. Every scene she's ever in I end up shouting at the screen. I wouldn't put this woman in charge of fetching me towels let alone murder investigations....She'd probably break down at how fluffy and absorbant the towels were and cry for 20 minutes before sleeping with an inappropriate person for no apparent reason before crying again because she doesn't have any tits.

..And my opinion hasn't changed one itty bitty titty bit. She's still absolutely awful. In this episode she walked in on Dexter about to calve someone up (though she didn't know it was Dexter because he was behind a sheet) and rather than arrest them, she got all emotional (again) and let them go. She's a useless Detective. Absolutely fecking useless.

If someone I know got killed and I was assigned a Detective like her I would lobby Scotland Yard all day and all night to have her replaced before she fecked up the evidence, burst into tears and then slept with the main suspect.

Oh feck off. Must you be so critical about every shit? feck off

To be honest, the whole of Miami Metro Homicide seems to be consisted of complete idiots. I think that's the problem with the show to be honest. They are all such cardboard characters that say the same predictable lines over and over again. Not only just Deb, there is no way that any of these clowns in any rational universe could sustain any job requiring intellectual prowess, let alone the elites of the police force. That's why the show seems kind of cartoon like, in the sense that the hero (or antihero in this case) always wins and the supporting characters just spiral around him, repeating the same mistakes and the rest. That's why Dexter seems pretty redundant now.

Deb wont die (though I wish she would she is the most annoying character on the show) because the woman that plays her is married to Michael C Hall in real life

I think right now the show needs to get darker, like Breaking Bad did.

It is fine the way it is. Darker? To feed your demons? :nono::nono:
They are not going to enact your fantasies psycho.

:confused::lol:

Yeah, as people are saying the majority of Miami Metro are clueless. There needs to be a greater risk for Dexter, and I think his character should take a turn.

What are you talking about?! Angel Batista is the sharpest detective in both fiction and real life I have ever encountered!

Yep, just watched it. Good episode, but more laid the groundwork for the next one.

Theory I was thinking that a few people share...

Not sure if this has been said already since I'm to lazy to check all spoiler tags, but does anyone think the old man is in that young killers mind? I know he exists because he was on the website, but we never see anyone else pay attention to him. He wasn't offered any coffee in the shop, and the girl didn't look at him once or pay any attention to him when she was tied up. It was definitely shot that way on purpose, the only question is whether they are making it so obvious that its a red herring... or they just dont realise how obvious it is. I reckon the young guy killed him at some point and now he exists in his head... a kinda parallel to Dexters Harry... since you know... they love to do parallels between dexter and his opponents.

This really looks to be the case now. Good shout!

Very good ending but overall an average episode.

How is it a good shout? Evidence points otherwise. How then can they explain the phone call?

Well that doesn't really need much explaining does it?

He imagined it. Just like Dexter imagines his conversations with Harry. I'm still 50/50 about it though, I think it's no coincidence that they've shot it so that it's possible... but I think they might push the idea far enough only for them to pull another twist.

Apart from what has already been said, there's also the matter of the disappearing blood on Gueller's face. That seemed like they were trying to depict some sort of hallucination to me, though it wouldn't suprise me if did transpire that Gueller was real after leading us on to believe that he wasn't.

Dexters dad is always picking up shit, pictures of Harrison etc. Any way good episode.
Anyone feel they did that whole close up of the tattoo on the girls back as well as the book a bit to obvious.

I was just going to write that..

Surely that's not just any tramp stamp.

Didn't notice it was the same symbol on the book, so that's that figured out then. Good spot.

Also, didn't Hanks jr. sound an awful lot like his dad in the car scene with Dexter when his voice was strained? Just a fun observation.
