A better place to complete that is on Venus where the that Captain keeps respawning on the ridge. There are 4 spawn spots surrounding a ramp in the centre of that area, you can fill your boots but make sure you can take a bit of damage as you are somewhat exposed... done it quick.

Ok I hit 27 last night, so when are we going to attempt this raid?
I checked and I had 55 headshots after about 25mins. I played another 30mins and had 63 total. WTF!
Me and @Damien did the weekly (i think) strike last night. That was fairly solid. I died a lot but at least i have one piece of gear with some light on it now

@afrocentricity Aye I'm up for it, I'm gonna try and get some of the queens stuff first though once I get on, now that I know to do the earth mission rather than that insane Mars one. I've three bouties completed so wanna see if I can get anything decent out of them before doing the strike. I'll do it solo but if anyone fancies joining in then the more the merrier.
I will do them aswell if you like. None of them are easy single player tbh. Earth is probably the shortest of them all but the enemies are still quite strong at the main boss.
My mate wants me to buy this so we can play together, but i'm really not into shooter-games.

Not sure how precise it has to be. Ie one shot kill when that beam of white light spouts from the neck. What is the easiest way to track progress on a bounty? Where is it viewed?
You can weaken them first, but the last shot has to be a "precision" kill, which is when the damage turns yellow. Just aim for their head and it will count.
You can press option and then go into inventory, and it shows your bounties there.

I'd say if you have someone to play with then it'll be great fun, the gameplay is quite addictive and levelling up untill about level 20 is rewarding, after that it's more of a grind but I can understand why they would want to slow the pace of levelling up after that, I dont think you'll find the aiming and gunplay on the PvE bits difficult at all. Its not like most shooters where the single player storyline is very linear, you have about 3 or 4 various types of missions to do on each planet and at varying levels of difficulty of your choice to try out too. The actual storyline itself is quite simple though, the missions are mainly about gathering intel about the various enemies and what they know with some parts here and there that further the storyline a bit, but bear in mind this is just the start of what Bungie hope to be an epic saga that lasts years and this is just kicking it all off so there's no real conclusion at the end but a feeling of this is just the start. Just stay away from the PvP untill about level 16 & onwards once you start levelling up more, getting better weapons & feel comfortable with the controls and using all the abilities.
on for an hour at least now. I'm level 24, so can actually join up with you guys now.
How do you unlock the Queen bit on the map? I assumed it was just accepting a Queen bounty but that didn't do it.
no, you have to do one of them to unlock a mission.
Generous aim assist, and powers that can be used on occasion that don't need aiming. Early on it will be easy enough, but higher level stuff requires you to be on point with your gunplay if you are solo. An assault rifle and a friend will get you far, I suppose.
Edit: also super/special weapons to help that don't need good aim. I'm sort of in the same boat as you; though I still do play FPS, just not much good at them competitively. I'm enjoying this, but I just won't be topping the PvP scoreboard very often...

Can you not get queen gauntlets or leg armor? I've just been given 2 helmets and 2 chest pieces - useful for shards, not so useful given that my only two legendary and exotic pieces are the helmet and chest piece.

Had my first shot at the daily strikes with Damien a little while ago. Not to bad, though some of the bosses are a right pain to kill.

Try farming, I got all the good stuff through that. I got like 5 legendaries and 2 exotics that way.
I've had 9 legendary drops now and none of which gave me legendary armour. But I have an exotic sniper! I need about 500 vanguard marks to make rank 2 then I can buy legendary gear instead of waiting for it to drop should make it tonight if we make the Venus strike 22

it was one you hadn't done yet as you got the reward for it afterwards whereas I didn't, but that'll save you some time whenever you do complete the story mode as you've got one mission done! That took ridiculously long though.That damn Minotaur on the ledge
was funny on the daily story mission we did where it seemed that you and your friend had connection problems and I went through the mission but was still able to hear you both and your friend saying that by the time you both joined, he'd probably end up with 3 kills again You ended up with more kills than me >.>Is it just me or are strikes easier on your own than with people?
They're quite doable on your own anyway, don't know why it isn't an option

@Sampy93, I've also unlocked the 'fireborn' ability as sunsinger so if I die I can revive myself as long as my super bar is full. It's great.

Ah right, well that's a relief! It'll probably be a bit before i get round to it anyway. Now i'm at 20 i want to get gear that'll help me level up and the story missions i have right now don't give me rep or anything so don't help me towards that goal (i think).
