Any xbox lads want to do the weekly strike tomorrow? I'm so close to level 26 and I need those special coins.
For the moon boss you need to spread out IMO and take it in turns Hitting him to keep it turning. If you use those Ramps as shields and just dodge 1 side every time he fires you should be ok.
The moon is easy, are you guys playing it on hard? @Damien is right, you have to spread out but stay close, with the right weapons it shouldn't be too hard.
I'll be on in about 40-50 mins to give it another go. Really is difficult. Key thing is to try and stick relatively close together as you're all reliant on reviving each other, but not too close that you can all be wiped out at once.
I managed to get two. A few times I went to what I thought was a blue engram to discover it was a blue orb instead

I haven't had a single random event in the game by the way? Me and my mates have seen none. I'm getting on 20 hrs I think.

I've had about 5 but only completed one, which was to protect something on the moon, and never got close to completing the others.
Managed to get into a few crucible matches for the first time tonight. It's actually a decent bit of fun i reckon. Seemed to give me a fair deal of XP too. Need to win one more game to complete a bounty and just participate in two more to complete another. 10k XP right there.
Just reached level 16 and opened up the vanguard strike Mission. Me and two randoms sent 40 mins trying to kill the enemy but simply could not kill them with our level 16 weapons. If we tried to pick them off from distance we couldn't do enough savage but as soon as we got close we got our asses kicked.

This game really doesn't want to give you any guidance at all on what your meant to be doing. Can someone let me know what your meant to do with the random plants you collect on earth and the helium??? you collect on the moon etc. Do I eventually use them, or should I just not bother collecting them?

I was in a Tiger strike on the Summoning Pits with two randoms. One left and I told the one that was remaining to stick around and when we got to Phogoth, one of us would attack him and the other would just concentrate on staying alive. About 40 minutes later we weren't really getting anywhere (I did get a Legendary engram! more on that in a moment), but Sampy came on so I invited him to the team and we did it without much fuss. I messaged the randomer apologising for the length of time it took but he said it was worth it.
Sampy and I did another strike and the daily story, and now I'm on 120 vanguard marks. Tomorrow I'll work on getting 10 more, buying two vanguard armour, then attempt the weekly strike again with Sampy and others then hopefully have enough coins to buy something from Xur (on 10 currently).
Decoded the Legendary engram and got a Legendary primary weapon. Pulse rifle but can be made auto, just what I like.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be much improved.
Got my first exotic from a legendary enegram, Titan chest. Looks like the Exotics dont change colour to match your shader. I dont use a shader anyway, just something to keep a note of for those who want to fashion.

Tried farming some of the recommended solo areas yesterday and it just didn't do it for me. Didn't get many blues out of it and felt a little boring. I can handle the Nexus one as there would be others, but not going to bother on my own.

It is frustrating, especially when you're playing in a fireteam and they seem to be getting all the blue Engrams. Also extremely annoying when you get s few blues, cash them in and get fecking uncommon/green gear. I'm just under level 23 and struggling to find any gear that will push into 23. Might start playing the crucible but not really a fan of online PvP shooters they are alway very unbalanced

It's all luck. Just play around and kill enough people, you get the most in strikes, if you don't get bored easily you could do the one on Venus. BTW I thought you hated this game!
Cosmodrome is the new Nexus, you can do it on your own... drop rates are compareable, and you can do patrol missions and events too...
It's not all luck tho, you can farm, but it's obviously more entertaining to do as you say... play the game and role the dice.
I don't hate it, I enjoyed leveling up (despite it being quite repetitive and the story being rubbish). It's the end game I don't really like. There seems to be no direction, just repeat stuff you've done before over and over in the hope you get a random drop? Yawn.

I think it was on patrol in venus, I was trying to do four Vanguard bounties in one sitting. Kill 10 Fallen Majors/Ultras, Kill 2 enemies at the same time with the fusion rifle 20 times, get 9000 points without dying and kill 3 or more enemies with your super 20 times, I also did 2 public events in that time too and got gold ranking in them both.
I'm a bit behind, how do farm on Cosmodrome?
Don't think I'm going to go on much further on this. Ascendant shards, which are key to leveling up your legendary gear, are just to hard to find.
I assume you're talking about the DLC, but if I don't have high enough gear to play them then what's the point anyway?

Bought the Titan exotic helm, the exotic engram gave me a 2nd exotic Titan chest. He has a nice rocket launcher but I couldnt afford that as well. I did just start an exotic bountry for a Invective though, so hopefully i will have an exotic weapon soon regardless

So what do people favour as their primary weapon? I've been religiously using the Pulse rifle since I've been pretty much useless with anything else. Also, is it me or is the hand cannon completely shit?
Is it true that the exotic engram is random? I.e, it could be for the wrong class?

Just used up 23 motes of light and got Hunter chest armour, but as a warlock I can't use it. I've got 2 exotic items for hunters now. Guess I'll be making another character But I did get the exotic rocket launcher. Which is sexy!
