Pretty good, finished up the story and polished off the non-crucible bounties for the day. Pledged allegiance to Dead Orbit and and played a couple of strikes, which got me up to 34. Just lacking in light now but not sure what to do about that now since i can't get all that many marks. Think i'll hit the crucible a bit tomorrow and see if i can do some of those bounties for the rep too.
Yeah there's nothing you can really do about light until Tuesday when TTK comes out and legendary marks and stuff can be earned.
Have you done the bladedancer/gunslinger quest? If you've not done it I think you can get it from the abandoned quests terminal. From completing it you get a 220 light class item, but it requires level 40 to equip

I've just completed the first part of it tonight actually, kind of accidentally mind you. Next part is to generate 25 light orbs or something, don't actually recall how that's done though

So I caved and pre-ordered Taken King. Sure it seems pretty overpriced, but I still enjoy the gameplay 12 months on, so can't complain too much about value. I should be on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, possibly Monday if we can sort out enough to raid.

Was ridiculously unlucky. Good thing we ended up spawning into a strike with just the two of us.
