Naturally I will. Brocky, is there any Fallen rounds on 35?

And I've got no keys so whats the best way to try and get keys before 10ish? Skywatch farming?

Yeah, there's Fallen. Two and Skolas, iirc.

You will definitely want a key, as that gives you the ship and shader. I prefer to farm in Ember Caves & Citadel, tbh. I'll be home around 18:00. If @Anustart89 is online, get him to show you the Ember Caves farm. You can easily see all the chest locations from the spot where the battle takes place, which allows you to get at least two hits on every chest and it's easy to get through to The Citadel, where you can sometimes catch the event there for a double chance.

Done two PoE35's now. Got nothing of note from the chests but all my characters are 34 now. Also, I've ascended my Fatebringer :D VoC next!

Awesome, my Wolf Claw should come in handy for that  Can't believe I forgot for that moment about my Oversoul Edict going through Knight shields  Hoping to get an arc version of the Wolf Claw through the chance thing at some point.

The emblem too, right? Did the Ember Caves and Citadel farms the other day but had no luck with keys. Will give it another go though.

Yeah, you get the Emblem.

That and the shader is what I'm most looking forward to. The shader looks great with the Ram helm
I have it on my Titan. The top half looks ok, but it really doesn't go well with the Crota boots. I'm hoping that the PoE boots have the heavy ammo perk, so I can get rid of the Crota ones. I've never liked the way they look.

Playing a bit with my upgraded fatebringer and I have forgotten how good it was. Loving how the firefly/explosion now work together as well.

Has anybody from caf managed to get an elemental primary from the level 35 ?
I don't think so.

Does anyone know if it is a random drop that you get with the light and cores, or if you have to open the chest at the end to have a shot at them?

Random drop from beating Skolas is what I read on Reddit
Thought I remember reading that somewhere as well. Must say not having a chance to get them because you don't have a key on you would be highly crap, so glad it isn't that way. Drop rate must be very low though, as none of the people I've run with have gotten one.

Somebody please jump in and help me and a friend on lvl 34 POE. We are stuck on round 4 and have got so close too many times!

Round 4 can be annoying. What does your fireteam consist of?
It's ok we got a 34 from LFG and we winged it after 2 attempts, our other friend isn't that great so was holding us back a little little.

Well that was gutting. Did 35 with Brocky for hours and hours until like 4.30 in the morning and just couldn't complete Skolas. Killed him once (and died right afterwards) and was close a few other times but ugh...

@Brocky In Black look at these two videos

and some tips on here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...ion_prison_of_elders_level_35_were_at_skolas/

Went through similar pains. 5 hours in and we disconnected the first time. Second time our building lost power. Third time we failed miserably trying to bubble and rocket him. But, we finally won.

It's nearly 3am here and I'm on my phone but I'll try to summarize. Basically one stun-locks and the others rocket. More details:

  • All three of us were level 34s (two Titans and one Warlock). Everyone with max rockets because Crota boots.
  • Two people (A and B) with Ballerhorns and one (C) with Babyhorn (Hunger of Crota) and Ice Breaker.
  • Go the left strat as always. A and B down the Servitor and unload their Ballerhorns.
  • As Servitor is going down, C pops their bubble and slowly Ice Breakers him to keep him stun-locked for the longest time possible. This keeps him in place for max rocket damage from A and B. One headshot every two seconds or so. Be sure to re-up on the WoL.
  • A and B re-up on rockets with synths, and then unload those.
  • When C runs out of Ice Breaker ammo, burn those rockets.
  • Profit!
All that should down him before mines start and before devouring essence hits. We had ~20s left on the first mine when we downed him.

Numbers wise my Hunger, with WoL, was doing ~10k. Ice Breaker was crit-ing for ~9k. Comparable enough I think.

The Ice Breaker tip might help. Also seen someone say that if everyone is using their synth at the same time, then thats how Skolas teleports up into the bubble as he's not taking damage for a few brief seconds. A few have also said that the bubble is an aggro pull for Skolas and attracts him.. a few interesting comments on that

I don't know if anyone has done the CE yet since hitting 33/34 but yeah, 16 minutes start to finish.

@Brocky In Black, another video

Not listened to it, but just looking at the placement of the bubbles each time, they seem to be right behind some rocks on the left and Skolas doesn't seem to enter the bubble like that, so the three Gjallarhorns might work there

Nice, HM or NM?

HM.

Ir Yut was down in seconds.
We could of had Crota at enrage in one sword, it's quite funny carving through the knights and shrugging off melee attacks after all the nonsense we've been through doing that raid.

We actually killed him twice. The closest one I was around 70% through disarming the mine. The other one, I didn't get there. It was one of those scenarios where we started off well and then got worse as time went on, due to tiredness and frustration. It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to do the whole ammo run thing inbetween attempts.

I'll have a look at that stuff. Our strategy is sound, I think we were just not landing all our Gally shots, due to him coming in close so quickly and also because we were tired. Once he gets underneath us or comes round towards the steps, it's tough to land clean hits.

If Icebreaker staggers him, then that would give us a couple of extra Gally shots at a good range, I guess....but we would only doing around 3/4 of the damage that we would with 3 Gallys, of course.

The theory about the lack of sustained damage and the bubble drawing him in quicker is interesting and seemingly a sound one. If I remember correctly, you get similar issues with The Swordbearer doing crazy stuff, when fighting Crota, if you pop a bubble in the middle room between swords. I really can't see how you can survive that Scorch Cannon without Blessing and with no bubble protection, though...

I'll check out the videos.

@Damien - Just watched the first video. The popping of the bubble in that spot is definitely something to take on board, I reckon. I don't have sound, so can't tell what weapons the other guys are using, but it's basically the same as what we were doing, though seemingly effective at keeping him off the stairs.

Me neither, it is so OP.

And yeah, you're right about tiredness and the shots not hitting their targets. That second to last run, Kate ended up blowing herself up with the first shot

I think Skolas' health needs to be reduced as I can't see how it'll be done in future weeks with no Solar burn

Yep, all three videos have the bubbles in the same location and seem effective at keeping him off, which makes it easier to target him

Aye, that bubble spot is a huge factor.

It seems that he can be staggered with the Icebreaker, which helps with the lack of Blessing protection, I guess. Would take some decent headshot skills....but definitely doable. Can you tell if the guys in the first video are using triple Gally, or dual Gally and sniper combo? I'm at work and I have already been skiving all day because I am so damn tired, so I need to be careful.

 I'm pretty sure they're using three Gjally but I'll double check in a bit. With sniper it probably would take a bit longer. Also noticed the lack of aiming which means the rockets fire faster. Not sure about you two but at times I aimed to make sure it went on target and as a result things went a bit slower. Next time I'll probably abandon doing that and see how it goes.

Yeah, I always aim. You don't get lock-on if you don't....but I guess the bigger sight picture, plus the fact that the bubble spots seem to keep him pretty much stationary, means that you're more accurate and don't lose much damage if you don't score a perfect hit.

is 35 poe basically skolas going ape shit with a scorch cannon?
Skolas is just the final boss, but I guess that's what you meant.

But yeah, that's about 5% of the fight. Another 5% is us going apeshit with Gjallarhorn. This takes all of two minutes, maximum.

The remaining 90% is farming heavy ammo and waiting for synth cooldown.

One decent hit from the Scorch Cannon will wipe a level 33 and take a 34 down to critical.

Yeah, so use sights at a distance then when he gets closer in the positions in those videos its safer to not aim and will speed things up a bit. Feeling more confident as I watch those videos, of course putting it in action is a different story.

Yeah, me too. If you'd have asked me this morning if I wanted to have another crack at it tonight, i'd have probably said no....but I'm up for it now. As long as I don't fall asleep when I get in from work.

I've got no idea how you cope. Might be best to have an hour or two sleep when you do come in from work though, might help a bit

I've just messaged Kate. I can't recall if she said she was working tonight, or not. Wouldn't feel right doing it without her, considering the effort we put in last night. If she's working, though, we'll have to get someone else in.

Yeah, I agree. Good thing is that now that we've experienced the full level 35 arena, less time should be taken to get back to Skolas as we won't need stuff explaining as most of what happened last night should be fresh in the memory

Aye. The Hive part with the mines was a little tricky, but the rest was quite straightforward, iirc.
