Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Not many exotics left that I need, and with 2 months until the next dlc. I reckon I'll get what I want or at least most of it...

No doubt the dlc will set us back to square one again anyway...

I'm up for a raid tomorrow eve anyway. Gonna take a break again tonight...

Damien I owe you like 50,000 million ones.

 I really hate that nightfall as for that last area it always spawns you right in the middle of all the enemies if you leave and rejoin. Can take ages, but it's no problem.

Good stuff. So am I

I'm in for a raid tomorrow as well.

Only need to do the abyss/bridge on one Warlock and then the entire raid on my Titan.

Just need a few more shards and I'll have a full set of 32 gear for both my Warlocks so I only have to swap the exotic armor now. They really, really, really need to increase vault space now though.. Especially with another set of weapons coming out with the HoW expansion.

I'll be on at 20.00 if there are any spaces tonight.

Woohoo! Good week for me so far. Finally got Hunger of Crota and Fatebringer. Still waiting for the weapon I desire above all others though

Fatebringer is excellent, its just a pity they are going to render it obsolete soon.
Idiots.

You got 2 at once after all that time?

Yep  Just my luck.

LOL that's Destiny for you! amazing.

Yeah :( Enjoying using Word of Crota on the Praetorians though, but still Fatebringer is apparently better for most things.
Yeah Fatebringer with all the exploding perks it has wrecks groups of enemies so quick. Probably my favourite PVE non exotic gun - just a shame it'll be left behind damage wise soon.

so i've only really just got into this and reading the thread back i've no idea what any of you are talking about!

wouldn't mind a bit of advice if poss
i've just finished the main campaign and paid the (frankly ridiculous) price for the dlc last night
I want to get into the end game stuff and get some decent gear - what's best to do next?
i'm a lvl 25 hunter

Once you hit 26 you'll be able to start normal mode atheon raid on Venus which'll give you some good weapons. What console do you have, how many strange coins do you have and your gear etc so we have an idea of what you can do to strengthen quickly

Are you on PS4? If so, add me: Brocky36

Ideally, you want to be joining up with people and doing Raids, Nightfalls & Weeklies.

At this stage, when playing solo, do bounties and strikes to earn Vanguard Marks and increase your Vanguard / Faction rank and and aim to get a full set of Vanguard / Faction armour. Mix and match between the different vendors to get the perks that suit how you play. A full set and an exotic piece (a helmet, likely) will get you to 30 and allow you to be effective in raids, where you'll get the gear which allows you to reach 31-32, as well as the top weapons.

Completing bounties will also get you an occasional Exotic Bounty. You can get a couple of decent weapons from those.

cheers, i'll add you later when i'm on
i've been doing the bounties regularly for the past few days and i'm working my way through the strikes.

are weeklies/nightfalls doable now or do i really need to be lvl30 to have a shot?

As a 25, 28 is doable if you've got a couple of people to walk you through them. You'd deal hardly any damage though

For PvE Shotguns are useless, I would advice to stop using them. Use snipers when you can and fusion rifle when you need to get up close. Scout rifles are excellent though, as are hand cannons. You most likely know this already, but I like using fusion rifles to take shields down, you should do the same. Start ranking up the vanguard or whichever faction you want, you will get a reward for ranking up.

No worries.

BTW; Don't bother buying Vanguard gauntlets. If you complete Eris' story missions, you'll get a set for free.

i cant get on with fusion rifles though to be fair i've not used them a lot since the early game. i like to rush in and melee a lot which is why i use shotguns although now i'm thinking about it i rarely use them when i'm actually being tested i'm using them now to run around low level areas doing bounties and such
i dont think i've tried hand cannons. must give them a go

A scout rifle & fusion rifle combo is top drawer for most situations. Though, I do like my Invective shotgun. You can get it from the exotic bounties. Look up on Google for which one you need to choose to get it.

I used to be like you but if you want to do the higher level stuff like raids and nightfall you end up dying all the time rushing in like that. My advice is to stick with fusion rifles and get used to them, they destroy in nightfalls with the right burn and they're excellent in PvP if you get good at using them.

As for H.C's, they're awesome. I use Fatebringer all the time, it's great. There are many good H.C's in the game, if you're good at getting headshot then you can one shot almost everything, not the very high level stuff though, it takes a few more hits.
