We've not made it to the Ogres once. Boomers/Crota/Thralls mainly.

For some weird reason I'm not as tired anymore. Just wish I changed characters ages ago as at times I feel very susceptible to dying as a hunter.

It's hard to find a group that sticks with Crota more than a couple of goes. Think when we managed to do it, it helped that over the eight hours enough left and joined that eventually we got a pretty loyal group which were determined to do it.
How did you managed to do it in the end?. I will try and type up our strategy to see if there is any different bit's which can help.
Middle strategy, sword guy on the right rock while we down Crota. One of us shooting right boomers with scout rifle to get their attention and leave the sword guy alone. Two downs per sword, three R2 smashes per down. On Ogres we went into the lower right back room where the Ogre spawns, jumped up on the doorway and blasted him as soon as he spawned. Then from that room under the effect of blessing of light we got the other Ogre. Then two more swords like that and he was done.

How the feck did you type that up at same time we were doing this. If you're looking on LFG, try to get someone who isn't a Warlock, we've got tonnes.
Better than my group. We had 6 hunters at one point
