:( Did you get anything good? Seems people see Crota as too hard so skip it altogether.

Yeah the group I was with last night skipped the Deathsinger as it only drops one reward, so if you did NM you wouldn't get anything for HM. Luckily for me the character I was using at the time was the only one that did NM this week so it didn't affect me.

Yeah it's simple. Much easier and better than that method where they kept trying to go out of the map unsuccessfully.

Some videos I've seen:

Crota being hit 75% damage with one sword:


  • 2-3 had Gjallarhorn and one person used primary weapon on boomers on the right to distract them...
  • Swordcarrier Hunter used blink to make him invisible so got there before Crota was kneeling for max damage
How to deal with Ogres easily (not that the groups I've been with ever get that far... furthest we get is one sword then the Bristolian goes on a big rant despite us doing well, leaves and the group collapses)

If we can get 2 to 3 gjallarhorns then we can pull that off, get him down in 2 swords.

Its all about getting his shields down, thats three downs with one sword, need that DEEEEPEEESSSS

Middle strategy. Though no Titan bubble.

We cleared the central area.
ran out and jumped onto the front ledge (when doing this part, get a few people to head shot the boomers if they start shooting to stagger them)
Down the swordbearer and crota as usual (hunter swordbearer going invisible)
We then ran to the right back inside and simply waited for crota to go right.
As soon as he goes back to the center, we go back out and hit him again.
For ogres, we were struggling for ages. But changed tactic for the run that worked. Basically we all rushed to the room under the boomer tower on the right and jumped on top of the doors. Smashed the ogre when he came out and then sniped the second ogre from there.
Then ran back inside the starting room and waited for crota to go right and then back into the center.
Then back to the center ledge and down crota. You basically have to down him at this point, as he will enrage. So just ignore the oversoul and try and get as much damage in.
Have to watch out after orges on the ledge as the thralls come up behind you and can reach through the glass. So stand right on the edge for that round.

Thanks. Seems like the strategy I've mostly heard. Yeah, Titan bubble isn't needed if there's someone who just pays attention to the boomers and shoots if they start looking towards the swordcarrier.

Yeh, though titan bubble would help. Don't think our swordbearer died to often. Most of our deaths were from during the ogres onwards. Or a boomer managing to hit one of us as we ran back in or out.

Anything that can give you health regen is a major help.

I asked them afterwards and they said it was their third run, though one of them has only done it twice. I still need to beat Crota one more time and one fresh run with my titan

That's good :) for some reason the HM brings out the dicks in people. Most of the groups I've been in have been wankers apart from the last one which I thoroughly recommend (posted about it last night).

The spell between downing Ir Yut and waiting for Crota to start is one of the worst. Takes so needlessly long.

Thanks for that. Think using a Titan to go up from just in front of the platform would probably be better than trying to go up at the side on a hunter as it's taking too long and Titan has that ability to jump higher

Done hard mode now, doing the strategy outside the window makes it so much easier.
