Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Fair point, being 1 level below will be a pain in the ass again though.

Just means that it will take longer to down Crota, higher risk of enraging him. Pretty sure they're gonna throw something in that part to make things harder. It's the only part I dread in the HM.

From what I read in the patch notes, it sounds like the Chalice is being removed.

Ooh, that'd be a nice way to make it harder. Although, if you just stay inside the room and jump as soon as the boomers start shooting you can make it without taking any damage. A group I did it with this week made it through four swords where only one guy had taken damage.

I'll be happy it's only the chalice, I thought they would add something else, like a gatekeeper dropping in or something.

What's the benefit of upgrading stuff with Xur? Bought that Achylophage Symbiote helmet. Does it scale to TDB level if you upgrade it or is it already TDB level (has 30 light with a 36 cap). Is it just a shortcut (if you could call it that at seven Strange Coins) to get out of grinding Ascendant Shards and XP?

If you've already got it at the 36 light level then there is no need to upgrade as it's already the top level.

Previously before the DLC people could get the armour and it would be capped at 30 light. You only need to use the Xur upgrade if you have the early version.

Yeah it should make it tricky but not overly unmanageable. You can use the Red death/Sorus to recover health anyway which is handy.

They do hint at other things, saying "you'll have some clues from how we can scale up the raid from VOG, YOU'll have fewer options for healing yourself, and each other".

So maybe some statis traps and IMO no chalice.

I'm thinking they could disable those perks as well.

Also, if VoG is anything to go by; no revives?

Cool, so anything acquired after TDB release has been scaled? Mine is 30 light base level and 36 when fully upgraded so that means there's no benefit at all to upgrading it at Xur?

If you've just bought it and the maximum light level is 36 then you don't need to upgrade it since it'll be the same helmet. Like Adam said, it's just for the old ones that used to have 30 as max light level. However, if you've got a piece of gear with 102 intellect and Xûr then sells one that has 117 intellect you might just want to buy a new one.

Nah, they won't do that, it will make the guns useless. I'm pretty sure there will no revives. Reckon they will throw another thing in there.

That's a really silly system.

Correct. No need to waste your coins

Correct. If it can reach 36 light you have the best option already.

But yeah, whoever doesn't have the Ice Breaker, I definitely recommend getting one. Easily the best all purpose exotic. For those who want it but are short of a few coins and still have the weekly to do, let me know and I'll do the weekly with you to help get you the coins you need - doesn't matter if you're as low as level 27

I've got three guys who are up for a raid if we need more people.
What raid you doing?

I'll do VOG.

I only need crota (twice) on the other one, but I fecking hate playing it so not really up for that lol.

Think he was on about the last section for both. I'm up for VoG whether from the start or just the last sections (assuming he's referring to around Gorgon's Labyrinth)

Invited you to party, we're doing VoG fresh

 My friends list is full of IB emblems. I'm the only one on my list without one. Not bothered doing IB this time around.

I've got the auto rifle to drop, and I am one match from rank four, I'm getting the hand cannon and tea towel this time round.

I miss when they were selling the Perun's Fire the first time around. I really loved that weapon. Just waiting for an IB to offer an upgraded one not from drop and I'll go for that.

I'm pretty much doing IB for the gloves and the hand cannon. I had the sniper drop for me twice and the auto-rifle. Good perks on both.

Not sure why, but I play so much better on my own. I was playing with @Adam-Utd and I was the worst player every time. I play alone and I win every game after that, was always the highest or second highest with the kills and captures.

 I won't lie I thought u were stoned or something. I think you just get games like that sometimes.

Very likely to be due to connection. When you're on your own, it'll make sure you get a game with the best possible connection, whereas it has to compromise a bit if you're with others.
