When you hit 18, I can take you through the 20 strikes, when you hit 20 I can take you through the 22 and so on. Hardest thing for you will be to get from 20 to 26 - happens to all of us, anyway.

When you hit 18, you'll be able to accumulate Vanguard Marks which you can use to buy armour from Ikora Ray the Warlock Vanguard. There's a 100 mark cap limit per week, but if you get 65 this week (before Tuesday) you can purchase legendary arm/leg armour from her which'll help level you up.

And once you get past level 20, I'll help walk you through the daily heroic and weekly heroic missions which give you better stuff too.

Yeah, I've been playing pretty much over the past few days since getting it, haven't been on since we played though. Cheers for helping out, got some significant upgrades on my gear from the strikes you did with me.

That last one that we did was tough as hell for me :lol: I kept dying all the time so at the end I figured I'd just stay back and focus on the annoying guys that kept spawning so they wouldn't annoy you (as much) while you were beating away at the boss.

Ah I see, so that's where the Vanguard Marks come in, I've been wondering about that. I've also read about the levelling system being different from 20 onwards but haven't got into how it works at all, but I assume it'll be pretty self-explanatory once I get there. I'll be on tonight at around 9.30 once I get off from work so if you're available then we can do some stuff, I'll try to get myself to level 18 tonight by doing bounties so we can do the 20 strikes that you mentioned.

Yeah, leveling system changes once you hit 20. You get armour which has 'light' on. Blue armour can be 15 max each, legendary armour can be 27 max and raid + exotic armour can be 30 light max.

Light needed for each level:
21 - 20
22 - 32
23 - 43
24- 54
25 - 65
26 - 76
27 - 87
28 - 98
29 - 109
30 - 120

So with four blue armour with 15 light you can reach level 24 at most, with four legendary armour with 27 light each you can reach level 28 and with three legendary armour with 27 light plus an exotic of 30 light you can reach 29. To reach level 30 you have to do raids
 
TLW is really fun to play with, the animation is really cool too.

@tom33 I'll be up for PvP when IB is back, I still have the Thorn bounty to finish.

Cleared it this morning and got Vision of Confluence and (my first) chatterwhite dye.
Didn't go into portal this time just stayed out and kept gate open which i found myself more suited to.
But yeah think i was spending too much time trying to kill trash basically. I switched my heavy weapon to one that tends to get ammo drops more often and that helped a lot too.
(Do weapons have a hidden ammo stat btw - some weapons seem to always get ammo, while others you might see 1 ammo drop in a strike, if your lucky).

Anyway was pretty happy with rewards, Got nothing but shards last night and was a bit grumpy about that lol.
Getting last word is pretty nice too (even if it turns out to be meh), use handcannons 90% of the time
and this is the first exotic one i've got.
It looks like it'll be fun if nothing else anyway and the VoC can be used for more serious stuff.
 
Not sure what I should get from xur or if I should just wait for next week... Have a level 18 titan as my secondary but an exotic helmet, legendary boots and then rare chest piece. My warlock I have the exotic gloves already, so I feel like it'd be a bit of a waste of strange coins.

Is the exotic hand cannon any good?

The armamentarium (titan chest) is very good. I think most people consider it the best exotic armour for titans. The last word is probably only worthwhile for PvP, because of its rapid fire. It doesn't really work all that well for pve though, so it depends what you play most of.

I know what you mean, I went back to Fatebringer but it's no near as fun. I know it's not very effective in PvE but I'm gonna be using TLW a lot more, it's way too fun, other guns just don't feel the same.

Also, the grimoire card for TLW is probably my favourite one, that's why I wanted it so much. For those who haven't read it, go read it!

Yeah, I'm kinda obsessed with upgrading my weapons, so yeah they all are. Plus, the Gjallarhorn should be handy at Atheon. Invite me when ready.
 
Do we have any titans for the raid? I need weapons of light, it will destroy Atheon.
 
I can probably get another 30 if we need one?
