Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Yeah that's what I'm going to get, is it better than doctor nope?

Doctor Nope is beyond ineffective in my opinion. It was the first Legendary I got and used it for about an hour. The high rate of fire doesn't combat the low impact and I wasn't getting anywhere in PVP or Strikes/Missions.

Shadow Price definitely the better gun!

Yeah I can't see it being that much harder. Only sticky point may be the first part after getting in the vault killing the oracles.

Don't think there's much point in me trying hard (though I will if you guys are short). Will repeat my interest in another run through on normal though!

Surely there are 5 others interested in playing on normal who haven't this week (4 if Browniee is still interested)

I think PSN is working again now?

Actually wait it's still down...

Yeah it wasn't letting me do anything apart from the usual planet missions. I just did some farming now logged off.

And possibly try to get the Ice Breaker. Very useful for Oracles/hobgoblins at the templar.

Yeah, that would be handy. BTW I got this from the raid, it's pretty fun to play with.

I'll try to upload a video if it later.

So, i haven't been on this in a while (left my PS4 at home so i wouldn't get distracted at uni  ) I was watching a stream earlier though and it whet my appetite again. So i wondered what people's advice would be for me, like where should i go from where i currently am, when i get back on it for a few sessions (probably be Wednesday night when i get back to it)

I'm at 23 at the minute with feck all in terms of strange coins or anything like that. Feck it, i'll just link my gear page so you can see how crappy my dude is http://www.bungie.net/en/Legend/2/4611686018435783419/2305843009222086237#gear

Is it just a case of putting hours and hours in grinding vanguard rep and then putting the hours in grinding the marks? That's the road i was kind of going down before as i thought i'd do that and first off at least buy myself some boots that have some feckin light on them

I'm only asking so i can use my time as efficiently as possible really.

Yup, that's how I done it, just put in the hours. Do the daily story, weekly heroic, it gives you some gear and strange coins.

I got a lot of stuff through farming but that's gone to shit, so I would just play Tiger Strikes whenever I have time if I was you.

Just used the ice breaker for the first time... it's awesome.

To be honest, I don't know if there is ever going to be 10 of us on the same night and with enough time to commit to raiding. I'd say there's probably 15 or so regular players. I think the most I've seen online at any one time is 8 and that was while you guys were raiding.

Ok, that's fair enough.

Are those strikes the hardest ones? I failed on the second ones (can't remember their name) before so i might be a bit underlevelled for those perhaps.

Easy tip for today's heroic mission:

When the final boss spawns, run all the way back across the bridge that you came from. He will stand in sight but not be able to hit you with his rockets from there and none of the cabal that spawn will come over the bridge. You should be able to snipe him easily from there.

I'm doing that, just doing bounties and strikes pretty much along with the daily mission. 20-26 seems like the least fun bit of the game to be honest.

Yeah I am interested. I've done all the other parts except the final boss. Was gutted when I missed out the other night. It's hard to set a time for everyone to do it though, I have a very pregnant misses here so I'm limited to what nights and how many hours I can get.
@Damien when will you be doing the hard raid? If there's a space Id join that, now we all know how and what to do it should be simple eh?

I'll be interested once I reach the right level so you can add me to whatever list.

Yup, those. They're super easy when you get better year and level up. Do the lower level ones for now, a lot of gear drop from strikes.

Got no clue when we'll be doing the raid yet, still pretty early. Tom said he's interested too if there's space so we'll see who is available tonight from the last raid lot first

If I am going to hit 29 i need a load of shards in a short amount of time lol

Just got the exotic weapon bounty for the Pocket Infinity

So I've still got 40 Motes and 25 Strange Coins. Is this sniper worth it?

I only recently branched out and currently using a Prudence II Legendary. I'm starting to appreciate the benefits of taking out big targets from distance at the higher levels. I suppose I've still got my FR for run and gun play and PVP. Just wondering if I should stick with what I have and wait for next week.

Spam public events, do the daily, weekly or nightfall.

Yeah I've done the missions.

I think I'm just going to have to do a circuit of the public events this afternoon when I get back in.

Ice Breaker will be really useful for high level daily/weekly missions, particularly when they have the juggler modifier. I'm not as big a fan as some seem to be as I sometimes like to be able to blast a few rounds away at a time, whereas with the Ice Breaker you have a maximum of 6 shots at any time. A good sniper is crucial for the tougher PvE missions though, where enemy snipers can one shot you.

If you don't run it completely dry, it generates a round every 3.5 seconds, I must admit it is difficult to restrain yourself to any kind of rytham with it as you tend to just blast all 6 off and not give two hoots.

I can see two fully upgraded ice breakers camping on the Templar section being very useful.

I've now got three characters (28, 22 and 6) so I can redo daily/weekly/public events multiple times for the ascendant rewards.

The latter character I started today and was really lucky that in my second mission a public event started and a level 26 guy was there to help me through it!
