I havent even finished the story yet been messing around with the challenges and side missions
Impressive that you've got your light that high then.

I was going to take my time but decided to blast through to try and get myself ready for Xur. Not that I'll be able to afford anything.

I am saving my tokenns for when I hit 260. Going the farm the hell out of public events and lost sectors tomorrow.

 That went shit. I'll do the one more crucible thing then I'll finish the mission thingy and mess around with other stuff.

Good idea saving tokens.

Just found out faction level up caps at 265. Might start leveling up factions at 240ish now.

Is Xur coming tomorrow?

Anyone wanna try giving the nightfall strike a go?

It doesn't matter anyway... just attempted it now and I'm 235 light, it's super impossible, need to be around 245/250 light at least I reckon

Ah. Guess it is probably best to grind over the weekend, then try before the reset. At least then the light of the rewards (if any armour/weapons) would be higher.

Put another few hours in this evening and opened another planet. You guys talk about grinding, what exactly do you mean? In a game like Dark Souls, for example, it means playing certain areas over and over and over to level up. Can you do that in Destiny 2? So far the missions I've completed in EDZ have vanished after I've finished them.

You can do strikes, crucible, lost sectors, challenges, adventures... and once you've finished the story you can replay certain story missions at an NPC. When you complete them you get tokens which you exchange for rep.

I'm assuming it's best to finish the main story before moving on to those things? That's my plan, anyway. I solo'd all three of the Borderlands games and Ghost Recon Wildlands, so I can handle this.

Good luck soloing nightfalls and raids :wenger:.
Shame there's no XUR this week, could have done with him as the Raid starts Wednesday

Already?? How long did that take?
Not really that long. I played basically a day, though the majority of that was messing about and such more than the main campaign.

Seems like there are a whole lot of side missions after though. Plus the adventure stuff around the world are decent minor missions in themselves at times.

What's the situation with Crucible? Are we best waiting to complete the campaign before jumping in? Picked up a solid AR from the Crucible guy at The Farm and I'm eager to get in and dish out some punishment but can't remember how it all works in terms of weapon levelling, abilities etc. Might grind out more missions tonight then hit Crucible all weekend.

Levels and light don't seem to matter in the crucible, yesterday I was matched with people with who were level 4 with 40 light and I was level 20 over 200, and they could kill me just as easy as I could kill them.

Gonna concentrate on levelling up to 20 and completing the Story over the weekend so I can get in on some strike action....and get my Virgin media sparrow

No levels in the crucible.

To be fair the level advantage in the iron banner wasn't worth worrying about either it was at most 1 or 2 points of damage which considering most weapons guns were over killing anyway (that being you couldn't kill a player with a round rumber of bullets, you always had to go over) meant it didn't matter.

As in a auto rifle would do something like 19 points of damage meaning it would take 6 and not five bullets to kill.
Hand cannon 30 points of damage so 4 bullets and not 3 etc.

If you get sucked in you will put in over 600 hours it's just one of those games

I don't think I dare look.

*edit* I looked:

150 hours in the cruicible.
290 hours raiding.
80 hours prison of elders (it was bollocks)
30 hours night fall
17 hours weekly heroic

And then however mean hours in the strike playlist and resource farming to level armor up.

Really starting to enjoy this now. Shame that missions are 3 player only and we didn't know until we were all sat in The Farm wondering WTF to do with our lives.

Anyone played crucible? Weird that competitive has no objective to it. I liked the game mode in the beta.
