Dean Henderson | Sold to Palace

Looks like Dean Henderson will be going nowhere if Heaton is out injured with Kovar and Bishop after leaving

I was expecting a keeper in on loan even without Heaton’s injury to act as third choice. That might just be accelerated a bit now.

Yes. Radek Vitek is injured, Bishop and Kovar sold, now Heaton… Henderson is apparently destined to be on the bench

Sounds like we can’t shift him because he hasn’t played for 7 months due to his thigh injury. Best we can hope for is a loan at this point but I doubt it’s going to happen.

The running story of Deano staying as Heaton is injured doesn't really add up when Henderson is also injured.

Keeping an injured player to cover for an injured player?

Is he the kind of character you would want as a no.2?
Does he have a choice? He hasn’t played for 7 months and no one wants him. I still think we’ll sign a keeper regardless of whether he stays or not. He’s burned his bridges and he won’t get a chance anyway

Quite so...

We were linked with Bayındır again. We could be using the Fred transfer connection to negotiate for him as well.

Mitten is saying we’re still proactively pursuing a deal for a young keeper as backup and it’s more than likely that Henderson is staying because there’s no interest in him due to injury. Although there’s a slight chance Forest come back in but don’t hold your breath now they’ve signed a keeper.

Palace on a loan-to-buy might be an option, with Guiata wanting out. I think Johnstone's about 10-20% better as a keeper overall than Henderson, but DH might fancy his chances of displacing the former...

Long term probably not but doubt he will be an issue for us this season (assuming he gets fit soon). His injury seems to be a blocker for any transfer, rather than the club or managing forcing (or making promises) him to stay around so I think he'll be perfectly fine as a back up keeper until January at least.

Yeah it’s just lazy clickbait journalism, if he stays it will be because we can’t agree a deal to sell him (looks likely). Maybe he’ll go on loan again but I’m expecting a new keeper to come in once some of the outgoings are finalised.

wtf have these cnuts been doing all summer? They've had 6 weeks to buy him and seemingly done nothing. Did they want him or not?

They could have had this wrapped up before pre-season, feck knows what they're up to.

Anyway, looks he'll end up staying as back up, because the other guy is injured.

Put up or feck off.

Think about De Gea but without the cat reflexes and maybe a bit better playing from the back.
Henderson was also known for relatively poor positioning on 1 vs 1s. On the other hand, he has decent penalty save stats compared to de Gea

His sweeping was the thing that was most significantly better than De Gea. Also a bit better with crosses and set pieces, while still not actually being good at it. His actual passing and distribution with his feet wasn't much better, but he does have good distribution with his throws.

It could be time to change the thread title. Turner will do nicely for us and dropping £20+ mil and a huge chunk of wages on Henderson makes less and less sense. Turners distribution is better than Hendo’s too. It’s far more likely we’ll bring in an experienced number 2 at this point.

Yeah thanks for confirming we are lumbered

I understand that Forest is no longer interested. We need to quickly find a solution. At the very least get him a loan. He thinks himself is too good to sit on the bench and he will be toxic if he stay.

Surely, one of the Saudi club could use him as a GK?

Thanks for pissing on our chips mate. Hope you enjoy your jacket potato.

At this point I just want him out of the club.

His interview last season when he went on loan was cringe. He was so dismissive of anything Utd related. Was proud to have left the club before even speaking to ETH. I can imagine him stinking the place out.
