Deadline Day! | Confirmed Signings in OP

You cant discount homegrown players. You said he has a terrible track record for midfielders. He developed that midfield meaning he didnt have to spend on it for years. How can you not get that?

As for Scholes, it was the player himself who asked to come back, not Fergie begging him to come back.

And you reckon he'd have asked to come back if our midfield was in good shape?

Anyway, in the last 10 years Fergie has had a really bad time with our midfield, has he not?

from the beeb:

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has just tweeted, although I wouldn't take him too seriously here: "Just bumped into two lads outside the door. One was called Lionel, the other Yaya. Seemed nice enough... lol!"

Sky Sports understands that Liverpool and Spurs have both lodged deadline day bids for Clint Dempsey.

I see Ryan Babel has been released. Liverpool done really well to get rid. They bought him for 11.5mil and sold him for 8mil. Hoffenhiem release him and take an 8mil hit. It seem strange. I suppose they couldnt sell him and wanted to save on wages as his contract is up next summer.

He'll be walking through mist next.

Van der Vaart to Hamburg and Maicon to City.

Don't know why Spurs have sold VDV. Has Moutinho come in as well?

Bassett must live in a wind tunnel.

His wife is employed in Hamburg, and he wanted to go back.

This ... and because we have signed both Sigurdsson and Dembele. Plus the 10.3m received for VdV will help further fund what will (hopefully :nervous:) be a flurry of deadline day incomings.

Whats the big news coming on SSN then?

What could it be?

I am guessing Man City or Chelsea making a big signing.

I'd imagine Levy is happy enough to unload any 29+ year old signed during 'arry's regime. None of them are on cheap wages.
