Seriously though, I do have some sympathy for
@WyoManU - I'm just not as extreme. To a certain extent I miss the old days where team loyalty seemed to matter more than it does now. One club men are so rare now, but not long ago we had Scholes, Giggs and Neville and although they were academy products and locals - you could tell they cared for United, supported us.
Not like the mercenaries of today who will leave for a 10% pay rise. I do have a lot of respect for Jack Wilshere, who said he'd never leave Arsenal regardless of mega money offers or where his team are in the league. Is supporting the team you play for so hard?
Edit: ...and to clarify, of course not everybody can be a one club player, and of course transfers are all part of the game. It's just we've given big Dave a real home at United, idolised him as arguably our best player, loved him, paid him well, given him a chance to be a United legend. It would be disappointing if he moved to Real Madrid.
