Classic caf, he's now useless. He's clearly a good CB, you just can't play him and Kim in a team that wants to play so much possession football for me. Both are extremely good physically, aerially and in challenges but they are lacking as a pair on the ball and put too much pressure on the DM and full backs to create something from the back.

I always rated Konate higher due to him being more composed as a CB. I thought Upamecano was erratic at the time but with time I felt he would improve. The post linked below from several years back still applies today.

Every time I watch Konate it looks like he's running in quicksand, or am I imagining things?He's been poor? In which games has he been poor and what actually was he poor at. I don't think you've watched many games of Liverpool.
Maybe you watched him against Arsenal and the acceleration Martinelli showed at one stage in the game clouded your judgement. But Konate's pace is fine imo and maybe he might have lost a touch of spees with some of the injuries he's picked up but if he can stay injury free I think he can get that explosivity back in the first few steps.Every time I watch Konate it looks like he's running in quicksand, or am I imagining things?
The Liverpool fans are very happy with him from what I've read on their forum and consider him to be their best CB this season.
