Day 9: Cameroon vs Serbia | South Korea vs Ghana | Brazil vs Switzerland | Portugal vs Uruguay

It probably did skim his hair so he thought he had something on it.

You guys are just being so petty saying he’s mad, the man does not care. He has said it himself he can score 0 goals this tournament and Portugal win the WC and he will be the happiest he’s ever been.

Truth be told he’s looked better in these two games then any game for United this season, his attitude looks completely different because he finally looks happy. He clearly still has game and had direct influence in the opening goal
You thought he was good in these first 2 games?

Most obvious penalty in the world. And this place really has become sad. That dumb smiling meme, that was posted a couple of pages ago, really fits well.
It’s the most obvious penalty if you completely ignore the rules for penalties

He wasn’t the best player on the pitch but he was better then Felix in both games.

His positioning has been great, scored a goal, linked up the play which led to the winning goal vs Ghan, had a direct influence in the first goal today.

He’s done his job. Looks better in these two games then in any game for United this season.

That's not exactly a high bar. He was dogshite 1/10 for us most games.

Ronaldo looks really mad clearly hahahaa

You lot are so strange sometimes

the man child literally spent the next 2 mins after the announcement taking pot shots in anger.

had a clear chance to play the ball through to Leao for a 1 on 1 and turned to hit it into the defender from 30 yards out

Looking at that penalty, I think he has to keep his hand there to land. However he's falling and takes the ball out of brunos path.

It's accidental but I think a penalty should be given all the time. The defender dives in and is done, and it's kinda crazy a defender can bat it away from the players path to stop a goal

He missed the chance! You’d think he dummied the ball on purpose reading your posts.
It was a bad miss, that’s all it was. The ball going in was luck

Also Diogo Costa is not ready to start for Portugal

Yes he was, in all fairness.

Unfortunately we aren't getting Nuñez off the pitch so it's all rather pointless.
That too. But I put emphasis on Arrascaeta. I see a lot of Flamengo games and he's magic. Put him in front of Betancur and Valverde

doesn’t look like there was a gap between the ball and his head. Must have just skimmed off his hair.

Still the goal wouldn't have happened without him and it was an important one in such a game.

That’s something you’ve conjured up from your own mind. There was no shred of evidence to indicate he was mad.

No change in the rotation of the ball. Looks like it went straight through.

does tip of the fringe count?
I assume so but no idea - like you said the trajectory doesn’t alter at all, so it’s got to be by the slimmest of margins.

It makes me sad to know Bruno could have an immense tournament and lead Portugal all the way to winning the World Cup with the most goals and most assists... and even still the media would just make Portugal winning their 1st World Cup all about Ronaldo

oh really? What about the arms he waved immediately when the goal was announced in the stadium. Let me look for it on twitter

Have to praise Pepe's composure. Guess having all these cameras and VAR does wonders

I do miss the days of him kicking strikers up the arse in the middle of the box. :(

Are we even convinced there was a ball at all? Where's the evidence, eh?

if ronaldo can score without touching the ball then anything is possible through our lord and saviour.

You do know that a ball can hit a hand accidentally and it not be a penalty right. His hand was in a natural position for a fall like that so was not intentional.

i reckon he was just trying to show off and sick new break dance move he had been developing and was caught out.

I'm pretty sure that most strikers in this world cup could have attempted and failed this header. He didn't even jump particularly high. But yeah, lets say that in this specific situation, he did better than a 10 man team without any strike, what an impressive contribution!
