The sad thing is he is rightfully the greatest coach in our history.Whats funny is that Portugal won't be rid of Santos anytime soon, he has delivered the bare minimum now, get past R16 and he will last a couple of tournaments after this.
Actually, after the peno was given I was looking out for Ronaldo and instead they showed Santos on the bench sort of hiding his face. Make of that what you will but it looked like a guy that just got great news yet was thinking everything is about to fall apartI was hoping for a video. I’m not necessarily saying he didn’t wave his arms. But how can we say so conclusively from this? That pic could have been from any moment in the game.
Good on himArgh… id of thought inaki would have chose Spain and could have made their squad. Wonder what made him go for Ghana… obviously it’s easier to make their squad.
I wish I was Portuguese and/or BrazilianPortugal and Brazil qualified. Today was a good day
He got called up once by Spain in believe in 2016. He was never be going to be called up again, he is 28 years and his only chance to play at the world cup.Argh… id of thought inaki would have chose Spain and could have made their squad. Wonder what made him go for Ghana… obviously it’s easier to make their squad.
Ronaldo's cicle will only end in the Euro 2024 I think we will see the team growing without him in the qualifiers but he will still be around till the Euro.Portugal would be way better without Ronaldo. He is not a striker. He looks so lost out there sometime. His positioning is terrible. More than not he was playing left wing. And claiming that goal. That was typical of Ronaldo. More interested in himself then what his team mates give. And that is the biggest problem with Ronaldo. He is not a team player.
That's funny. Why?I wish I was Portuguese and/or Brazilian
The sad thing is he is rightfully the greatest coach in our history.
Though personally under Scolari was the most competitive we have been imo.
No I do agree. He chooses to play Ronaldo, so he's obviously the problem. The potential not being maximized has more to do with the coach but I’m sure we won’t agree on that
IrishThat's funny. Why?
100%I mean, statistically he is, but it was also, no disrespect to your nation, a fluke final in 2016.
Well next year in the rugby world cup I'll wish I was irishIrish
Ya THATS the problem, hell I wish that was the problemNo I do agree. He chooses to play Ronaldo, so he's obviously the problem.
Yeah, but rugby is shitWell next year in the rugby world cup I'll wish I was irish
This is only taken into consideration for red cards, not penalties. If he denied a goalscoring chance he would have been given a red in addition to the penalty. He wasn't. You can't give a penalty for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity and then not give a red card. It doesn't work like that.
Which means it's not an intentional handball. Then accidental handball rules go into effect. His hand was used as support to break the fall. As per the rules, which also use an image with this exact situation, it's not a penalty.
Good man. Casemiro got it too. Utd ruling the WC obviously.
Fifa betrayed Ronaldo. It was his goal. He will call Morgan later.
Maybe he have problems to learn portuguese. That's funny. Why?
To be fair to Ronnie it did skim along his hair so would have felt some sort of contact. So, did Ronaldo just spend a few minutes celebrating a goal he knew he did not score? Bruno continues to deliver for Portugal. Big performances by the United players today.
In the Euro final when the back-stabber went off injured Portugal had to resort to Plan B. It meant that they had to play like a team, sharing the ball, rather than feeding the ego. Immediately their game improved. They would be better if they were freed of the Ronaldo handcuffs. Stick Eder back up front.
Look at the pictures there is clear daylight between CR37 and the ball.To be fair to Ronnie it did skim along his hair so would have felt some sort of contact.
You can see daylight.
Bentancur has always been a good all-round CM. I was staggered Juve let him go to Spurs for peanuts, let alone that they had a free go at him when our midfield was clearly all over the shop.I don't follow SPurs. But is Bentancur always this good? Or is it because playing for NT, like some players do? @antohan
And Pellistri was so rapid and skillful. He couldn't be worse than Elanga or Bruno as RW.
Yeah typo. Should have been 27/35.22/35 is 62%.
Can see a second string still thrash Cameroon
Brazil have not been as impressive as their favourites tag suggests. After two rounds, I'd say France look the team to beat. Brazil, Spain and England have been decent if not unspectacular.
Can't wait to see a Ronaldo-free Bruno back. Hopefully not on the right
