Day 8 | Slovakia vs Ukraine | Poland vs Austria | Netherlands vs France

Yeah, never a penalty. Surprised VAR didn't step in.
When the goalkeeper clearly agrees with the decision and apologises to the attacker, there’s no way VAR can intervene.

I absolutely love to look like a fool now m feckin Sabitzer.. my nerves

Weird dive, VAR should have reversed it. GK took a boot to the face so he probably just assumed he was at fault.

Looks like Ralfie has had no trouble in teaching this Austrian team how to press and win the ball back.

Is it how they play? Or are they going to fizzle out after 45 minutes like we did in his first game?
This is how they play. This style of play is what the players are used to. What hasn't been mentioned is that Rangnick effectively created this team a decade ago when he was responsible for Red Bull's football department. He ensured that all clubs under RB's leadership would play this way, would coach the managers coming up through their system in that style and it spread throughout Austria.

He created modern Austrian football and now is reaping the rewards by managing their national team, full of players who grew up implementing his vision of football.

Poland played awful football at the WC 2022 and now they play awful football too.

Surprised the rangnick thread hasn't been bumped by one of his followers.

I know he's scored a load of goals for Poland but Lewandowski never really seems to do anything at tournaments.

Truly happy for him. The insane and undeserved flak he got from the english media was disgusting.

Austria have been great to watch in this tournament. Love to see them still going for goals in the last 10 minutes

Austria are playing well, but let’s not get over excited, this is a terrible Polish team. They could finish the tournament as the lowest ranked team.

Seiwald has had a great game. Discreet, but very efficient and running like crazy.

Definitely. I hope they go far, wouldn't mind Austria losing the final against Germany

The state of some of the heroes on here, and in the United squad at that time. Toxic stuff that was so clearly not on Rangnick
Entitled millionaires didn't think he was that big of a name to follow his instructions. I hate mothern football.

Philipp Lienhart what a defender, one to keep an eye on. 27 years old already, but what a warrior.

Never really in doubt. Austria look really good. Unlucky to not get a point from France. Hope they go through to the knockouts.

Put up a good fight against France and beat the Pole, I knew Ralf would do well. Look what happens when he's got structure behind him and people listen to him. I've heard nothing but good things about what he's done in Austria. Would love to hear Ten Hag's thoughts on this game.

All the media hype about whether Lewa gets fit and all he did was elbowing people in the head when he came on
Great game by us, finally did the requested job when it mattered. Should have been 5-2 or something in the end, but I’m not getting greedy. Looking forward to seeing what we can do against the Dutch
