Day 8 | Slovakia vs Ukraine | Poland vs Austria | Netherlands vs France

Lewandowski on the bench?

Looks like he is really done.

Agreed.
System he plays means you have to work.
Unfortunately some of our players thought they were to talented for that.
That and his"open heart surgery"comment sealed it for him.
Ronaldo’s comment about “never hearing of him” was definitely indicative of the whole team’s attitude. Guarantee they were all slagging him off with Ronaldo.

Unbelievably arrogant pricks.

Get in!

We woke up a little last 10 mins or so.

Zieliński has stepped up and things immediately improved.

Austrian players lack the technical quality to make this work, but you can clearly see how good they are tactically.

:+1:

They have played some really good football in the first 15 minutes. Like a Jurgen Klopp team on top.

Our recruitment after Fergie has been shit. A weird collection of players.
Absolutely. If Rangnick had stayed we’d have signed some decent players.

I'm livid. Sabitzer, Grilitsch, Baumgartner are horrible today. Absolutely rubbish.

Good game. Hate the bad decision making in the last third though.

 Slight touch on the face and the man goes down like he got hit by Mike Tyson.

God, I hate this kind of players.

Ralf really has these Austrians playing fantastic. Maybe he wasn’t a fraud and our club is just rotten to the core instead?
Rangninck was a essentially a lame duck manager who was set up to fail by incompetent decision makers.

Not sure if he would've cut it as a a PL manager, but he'd have been an outstanding DoF for MU if the latter didn't give in to every demand of their new, shiny bald toy.

People will fall for Rangnick's tactics here forgetting that this is an international competition, a lot of teams rarely set up in any meaningful tactical shape besides the most basic ones and managers want to keep things compact and hope the team nicks one when they can.

Austria are quite unique in that case given that most in their league play the high intensity/press game. There's a reason Red bull started their maniac pressing experiment there. A lot of those Austrian players are more comfortable squeezing the pitch, pressing high and intensely than they are creating anything through passing and triangles. Rangnick has just come in and played to theirs and his strength.

As for that style of play itself, there's a reason Hassenuttl, Marco Rose, and Roger Schmidt are not at any top top clubs. It is unsustainable over a season, players will get injured, lose form, you will play against smaller teams content with sitting deep and be unable to break them down.

I said all of that to say, nothing Austria does here is unexpected, Rangnick has found the perfect place to implement his tactic, but that tactic wouldn't have worked at united. No point crying over spilled milk.

Why do so many British pundits and commentators say "Ranyick"?

it doesn't make sense. You just say it like it's spelled

I really like zalewski the LB. We should try and get him from Roma

How can anyone say sabitzer is good today? He is horseshit horrible horrible match.

No way we win this, we are as good as gone now. Pathetic performance once again when something is on the line. Bunch of bottlers.
