Day 19: Morocco vs Portugal | England vs France (QF 3&4)

No opposition player has scored against Morocco at this World Cup yet.

Canada's goal against them was an OG, and they've played Belgium, Spain, and 45 mins against Portugal in their other games. What a defence they have.

They are "Greece-2004"ing their way to the trophy.
They are not Greece-ing.
Morocco has more shot on/off target than Portugal, they are the better team in first 45minutes. Never once felt like an underdog team in the whole tournament.

Marocco deserves the lead. No problem admitting that.

Having said that, I think it will be very difficult for us to get back into the game.

Marocco vs Croatia final incoming

All these Portuguese players surrounding the ref need booking.

It’s going to be a Croatia-Morocco final, isn’t it?!
Teams that have met in the group both reaching the final usually turns out a good story.

What odds can I get on Ronaldo not being brought on for the first 15 minutes of the second half, then refusing to be brought on when asked in the 80th minute and storming home?

So weird that goal. All I seen was Morocco playing anti football and playing for penalties and they scored? How?

Anyway can't wait for France vs England. Both teams have played such free flowing attacking football in the past few years.

I don't think its anti-football. There's something really exciting about how structured they are. Portugal can hardly get near their final third. They play out of the back so well and they are able to counter with precision. Their a difficult team to face. A good team should have the fire power and width to beat them, but its a tough ask.

I don’t agree. With the exception of the first 10 minutes or so, Morocco were constantly going forward. They were as dangerous, and probably more dangerous, as Portugal. Their finishing wasn’t good, to Portugal’s delight.

What a tactical mess by Portugal. Their entire approach makes no sense. Hollywood long balls to nowhere instead of building real chances and retraining possession.
Did you not see what happened in Spain vs. Morocco? Morocco are just a very hard team to break down and create quality chances against. Trying long balls to cause some chaos isn't the worst idea.

Underdogs doing well is great and all but I think i'd much rather see Portugal vs England/France.

This "anti-football" sh!te has to stop, especially when levelled at strong defensive teams with good discipline.

There's no rule in football that says you have to employ Kevin Keegan style idiocy and win 4-3.

Are you taking the mick?

they’ve been the far better team both technically and discipline wise. They’ve been playing rapid, precise one touch football whilst Portugal have been playing the anti football hoofing with Bruno hitting the back stands more often than not. Then they resorted to diving and cheating once they went 1-0 down and realised Morocco were outplaying them.

Your view on the first 45 minutes is so objectively awful there either has to be an agenda or you simply aren’t wearing your glasses!

De Jong is a bit special isn’t he. Portugal’s best chance wasn’t when Bruno hit the bar, it was Felix’s header straight at the keeper

Thats harsh. Players like Ziyech and Mazraoui might not be world class but they certainly are above average players.

Ziyech and Mazraoui are bang average, that's not harsh that's what they are.

It’s not anti football, it’s called managing the game and absolutely necessary in tournaments

No man, them and Croatia are the devil for playing to their strength. All the big teams are so good at football. England have played nothing but amazing football under Southgate and France under Deschamps. Brazil were robbed yesterday because they couldn't beat anti-football.

Underdogs doing well is great and all but I think i'd much rather see Portugal vs England/France.

Nope, if we can get through France, Morocco would be a superb fixture.
Bruno have a wealth of attacking options, whereas Morocco are more discipline, defence and hard work.

I thought Morocco have played well and the comments about them bullshitting their way through are somewhat unfair. They’re well organised and pragmatic, sure, but that is not a bad thing.

You're not watching this game, are you?

I’ve already seen the back post tap in equaliser and penalty winner

Seen him do it against Ireland in qualifiers, the game was similar to this.

Portugal need to get down the sides and get better crosses into the box. He has a point to prove and he will be eager to prove it.

They are really well organised arent they.
