Day 19: Brazil vs Mexico and Belgium vs Japan

This will finally be one of these heartbreaking games where the underdog is going out undeservedly, right?

Playing with courage should be rewarded, but instead the opposite is always the case when those bus parking underdogs are more successful.

Yep. Belgium tried to outperform Japan at football and failed.

Threw the big guys in and pumped balls in to the box and are being rewarded for it. It’s a shame.

It's the battle of the styles. Japan playing beautiful easy on the eye football. Belgium going physical and route 1 after realising they can't outplay Japan on the ground.

Raining heavily, getting no TV signal and switched to a Spanish stream. And can't figure out why the commentator is screaming "Colombia" 3 times when Belgium are attacking.

Shit. That was such good play from Japan. Deserved a fecking goal. I'll be gutted if they lose.

This World Cup has really highlighted what a low standard of refereeing we have in the premier league.

Have to give it to Belgium, despite their two subs on paper being distinctly average, they have actually made the difference.

Really?
Pretty sure if we actually looked up the stats, not that often at all? Not taking away from him here tonight but I rather suspect the people who like Fellaini have an exaggerated idea of the impact he's actually had off the bench.

He's played a big part in winning some crucial games. Especially towards the end of LvG's first season where he was utilised well by LvG.

That is the main reason he doesn't score much more. Whether in the air or on the ground, he hits the center of the goal too often
That's something he can improve if he wants to. It's about timing and Rooney explained practising this with one of our former coaches. Up to Lukaku to get it right.
