Day 17: England vs Germany | Sweden vs Ukraine (Ro16 7&8)

Really good win. Excellent tactics too. One in the eye for all those who think Southgate hasn't a clue. Germany were poor up front but were also strangled out.

Team look to be growing into the tournament. Suspect he will stick with the formation with Saka or James at RWB and Grealish in, assuming Trippier has done his hammy.

That was a poor game. Decent goals but pretty much the only quality either side managed all day. don't think you could call England a contender based off that. Germany were dreadful.

Still, maybe this will get the monkey off England's back. Perhaps they'll be a bit more relaxed in the next round.

England deserved the win at the end of the day. The much better team, though I wonder if Muller had managed to score his chance how the game would have went.

England deserved the win, Germany were pretty poor and missed chances too.

Now England need keep feet on the ground as next games won't be easy.

So. What were loads of you saying about Southgate.
Any want to admit that you were wrong?

Huge result. If you don’t get to the final now then it’s going to go down as the biggest bottlejob of all time. Couldn’t have asked for an easier route to the final.

Grealish and Shaw is beast mode. We need more.

Sterling and Kane looked more lively in the box also.
