Appalling line up. How any manager can look at their squad and pick that line up is quite beyond me. Cowardice at its best. The German line up is far better in comparison.
Won't they be busy tracking back against Gosens and Kimmich?Shaw & Trippier?
If Werner scores a match winning goal for us today, I'll buy you a beer if we meet up in London. Come on Die Mannschaft!!!Werner didn't score a boat load but he was always involved, creating space and chances for others.
When you play at home you have certain responsibilty to produce exciting football. Especially when you have the talent.
But we are. Germany looks dodgy as anything at the back. We have a glorious set of attackers and creative players and he benches them. Germany should be looking their lips.At least Southgate changes his formation - sth a manager should do. Look at Löw, despite playing bad most of the time he always plays the same system. That is far worse.
England not playing into GErman hands like Portugal is the right move.
After the festival of attacking football yesterday Southgate-ball will bring us all back down to earth.I'm currently torn between watching the game tonight or the grass grow on my front lawn.
Such a difficult decision.
It's play shite and get knocked on penalties.you’d rather play well and get knocked out than play shite and go through?

He will get fecked the way we did when Solskjaer tried it against LeverkusenI can't figure out why you would go to a back 3/5 now. Playing the whole group with 4 at the back, conceeding no goals. If we win, credit to him but it seems a mad decision.

Imagine playing for penalties against a team you always lose to on penalties.
The saddest thing is, we’re not even gonna give it a go, we’ll go out with a whimper & this guy will get a new contract.
I was talking about the england lineup, sorry for the confusion.
As for germany: This team has been less than the sum of its part for years, I don't expect that to change. At least we're not playing the dreadful Kroos-Gündogan pairing.
Gazza should have worn boots one size bigger.Euro 96, the media haven't mentioned it at all this tournament...
Whatever the result, he's shown himself to be a coward.Lose this and it just shows what a coward of a manager he is. I’m expecting us to start bright, miss a few good chances, Kane non-existent again, and then we fade out of the game.
Then he’ll decide to chuck on the attacking players we’re crying out for when were 1-0 down with ten minutes left, panic stations..Germany then make it 2.
Bring them on fresh to take penalties .I mean just imagine having the wealth of attacking options and not playing any of them
Why does it have to be one of the other with England? The teams that have gone through have all had attacking intent.
Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Italy etc. all had attacking intent and tried to move as fast as possible.
In fact, I think it is the teams that have been too slow and negative that are the ones that have gone out. They haven't pushed up high enough.
On one hand I get what you mean with the England lineup, but on the other this is such a pathetically negative lineup that Southgate might have overdone it and Löw's idea of dominance might work out for once as the English crowd, expecting it to come home, gets restless and puts pressure on their players.
I mean Croatia and France didn’t exactly play slow and negatively. The German fans are also saying that they’d rather play an attacking England than this one so who knows. We will see after the game.
There's a huge difference between going gung-ho and playing EIGHT defensive players. By all means play two defensive midfielders and 4 defenders. What does Low have to worry about? An out of form Kane? 0 creative midfielders? An attacker who has 6 goals in his entire club career?Germany is good against teams that press the attack and can exploit holes in the defense when a team goes gung-ho (see the Portugal match). Southgate made a smart decision, barring any brain farts from defenders or the GK I don't see any way of us scoring.
Believe me, I would have loved to see England play a super offensive lineup, that would drastically increase our chances of winning.
