Day 14: Mexico vs Sweden, South Korea vs Germany, Serbia vs Brazil, Switzerland vs Costa Rica

How much stock can you actually put into that though? Perhaps I'm just severely underestimating them tbf
A lot. It is quite objective (based on results of the last 4 years). Switzerland won't win the World Cup, but they aren't pushovers. Argies needed extra time to defeat them 4 years ago, while in last Euros they lost in pens.

So as a commentator you have 1 job; saying players’ names. How then, does a commentator not know how to pronounce Coutinho. It blows my mind.

I'm probably just underestimating them tbh. I must profess, i don't watch a great deal of international football. Although i'm still skeptical on using the ranking system to judge a team, personally.

I love how some Swedish people use every opportunity to have a dig at the best player this country has ever produced.
Must really suck for some that his last name is Ibrahimovic.
Completely agree. That's standard stuff from some people.

Paulinho is the closest thing to Lampard in the way he manages to get in scoring positions, it's an underrated ability

The heck, if things remain like this Brazil face Mexico in the next round. If we win our group tomorrow - we'll end up on that side bracket - with a possible Brazil QF, then one of France/Arg/Portugal/Uruguay in the semi.

If we lose tomorrow we'll be on the side of the bracket with a Sweden or Switzerland QF, and most likely Croatia or Spain in the Semi.

Hmm..

I want Brazil to win but getting tired of Neymar always acting like a big baby.

Because a player's worth isn't based on three games, perhaps?

This is how he plays the vast majority of time. Buzzes about without doing much, and loses the ball a lot.
One or two brilliant games seem to have made him a bit of a darling on here.

I so want Neymar to miss an open goal in the 97th minute to give Serbia the win

Neymar is the most unlikeable guy in this business. Compared to him i feel like Ronaldo is a very nice and down to earth guy.

England would be favourites against Uruguay, Argentina and Portugal though with France hardly setting the world alight.
I think Croatia and Spain beat you.

Neymar could easily make himself much more likable by just cutting out the fecking play acting/feigning of injury.

Lichsteiner is such a pillock. He'll fit in well at Arsenal. Moaner and groaner
