Day 11: England vs Panama, Japan vs Senegal and Poland vs Colombia

Colombia were my favourite team to watch in 2014 so it was disappointing to see them so poor in the opening game, but they've been as great tonight as Poland have been awful.

Colombia vs Senegal might be the game of the tournament. 2 teams that like to play.

two gorgeous assist passes and great goals from Falcao and Cuadrado

Hope Colombia can maintain this level next match, should be fun

Surprised at how poor Poland have been. Few people suggested they were being overrated before the tournament, largely been validated.

Tbh, this is a common theme with Eastern-European (Slavic) countries, very very few turn up in international tournaments. And the ones who do, are usually the Balkan countries.

Really? Which Balkan nations have had a good run in a tournament?

Can't think of Serbia / Croatia ever doing too well in my lifetime.

James has obviously progressed at Bayern because this is not the same James that was at Real

Remember when Poland was the dark horse of the 2016 Euros? Seems like it was ages ago, looking at this world cup.

They had gamed the friendlies system to get a high FIFA ranking and got seeded in pot 1. FIFA have now changed the rules so it can’t be done anymore.

Look at James. He's running probably the most out of the both teams, got the best technical ability/vision/passing out of all the players on the pitch, plays selflessly, he does everything.

If you're shit you should be running more, we don't even do that. James Rodriguez is fecking running us to the ground. It's disgraceful.
Keep your chin up. The polish players look entirely disinterested. It's like someone forced them to play; shameful. Most of them should get kicked out after the tournament.

To be fair to them they got a red in the 4th minute or something.

Croatia finished third in 98.

Yugoslavia used to be pretty handy too.
