Day 1 | Germany vs Scotland

Good thing there's only 30 seconds left so Rüdiger can get to the dressing room and wash his hands after touching the oil spill on Can's head there.

Opening game. Win by 4 goals. Penalty goal, red card for opposition. When was the last time that happened for Germany

Another nice finish there from Can. Still from where they were at half time that was about as good result as they could be realistically get.

The Germans win so much because they understand the mental side of the game better than anyone else. They get the importance of keeping the foot down when you're on top. They know the momentum of scoring the last goal of an easy win, rather than a soft consolation.

Mentality monsters.

There you go.

I quoted myself because I called it!

I also said it would be nice to see a repeat of the opening day match of Germany's 4 - 2 win over Costa Rica at the 2006 World Cup also hosted by Germany.

Both these games ended in 6 goals. Wow, I'm on to something here.

Be right back. Gonna get my head out my arse.

Good for a tournament to have the hosts do well, especially in a proper football country. Good stuff
