When a bad employee is hired, I always blame the company more than the employee. It is the people in the company who are responsible, to interview and make sure the employee is up to the task. And for a role as prominent as the manager of Manchester United, I do not think Woody and co did due diligence.
They are as much to blame here as they are.
Also, our players are no saints here, they downed tools as soon as they smelled weakness. I know it must have been frustrating to be told to play like how "Everton players" played. But at that point leaders in the group need to rally to keep the results going. Not be petulant babies, who don't turn up on match days.
Moyes was most definitely not up to the job, in fact he might have been out of his depth completely, but it wasn't him alone that screwed up that season.
And now I actually I admire the guy, not many people would have the balls to take up a 6 month contract, when you know this could be your very last chance to prove it in the PL. 6 mths does not leave you with any leeway to screw up the opportunity, if you do, you can kiss the top flight managerial job goodbye. Most people would have played it safe and waited for maybe a smaller club but a longer contract. Fair play to him.
