David Moyes West Ham Manager | Gone (pedantic sod Sarni)

It's a remarkable thing to say. Self belief is essential in professional sport but that can be an internal thing. To be back to speaking like this after two wins and a draw, having failed catastrophically at three jobs in a row is likely to infuriate many, or at least the fans of those clubs, perhaps he should have said I can do any job in the world apart from an united. Or real sociedad,,.......or Sunderland.

I hate the cretin because of what he did to Utd but can't stand him because of the never ending shite he spews. My girlfriend’s brother works as a steward at the Olympic Stadium. He’s stationed very close to the dug outs and if I ask him nicely he will shout out at least three Moyes-related obscenities a match. Feel free to add any suggestions and I will pass them on.
  1. You're shit
  2. We hate you
  3. You're shit (worth saying twice?)

He joined us on July 1 didnt he? Two months is plenty of time to bring someone in.
Absolutely, he played us at least twice a season for 10 years so i am sure most managers worth their salt would have a good idea of United's strengths and weaknesses at that stage and should have been able to provide a long list of potential targets. Given how Everton weren't exactly flush with cash at that time you'd think he would be used to drawing up a list of first choices and alternatives too.

Just when he was getting a bit of a run and only needing to keep things ticking he comes out with that quote. Such a strange character.

Exactly my thoughts. You'd think he'd learn his lesson, let his work do the talking, but he seems to really still have a chip on his shoulder. Loves a daft comment.

David Moyes says he could manage any team in the world - and wants to prove it at West Ham.

Since the Scot was appointed Hammers boss last month, the team have moved out of the relegation zone and are unbeaten in their past three games.

Saturday's 3-0 defeat of Stoke followed a victory over champions Chelsea and a draw against Arsenal.

"I think I'm capable of doing the job at any club in the world so I'm sure I can do it at West Ham," he said.

West Ham are 15th in the Premier League and travel to Arsenal on Tuesday for a Carabao Cup quarter-final.

"I have to come here and show I can do it," said Moyes. "You have to come and show what you can do. Your reputation doesn't stand for anything.

"You have to come here and try to get up and show you're capable of doing the job."

Never change, Dave.

Couple of victories and thinks he's already successful. Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern, United and City queuing up!

I fecking hate him so much. Notice how he makes it all about himself, the very minute they start winning games it's "I showed quality", "I proved I am great", "I got us a Champions League quarterfinal" but when things go south, it's always the players. I have no idea how people can actually defend him. He has such a hateable personality.

It's one thing to be confident when you have the credentials to back it up and another to spout crap like he does. He basically says every success his teams every had is PURELY down to him, and all the failures are only down to players. God I hate him so much.

Just google "Moyes says players must take responsibility" and then look up his quotes after Olympiakos win, after Barcelona win and now. He's such a fecking tool.

Since he had United job he has been speaking some absolute drivel.. that job caused him harm cause he's delusional beyond repair. Saying this after few good results. Me, me, me, I, I, I...

My god, what a plonker.

David Moyes is 100% trolling people.

There is surely no way he believes some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth.

Most regular Joes would be on a serious downer and be taking a long look at themselves after a performance like that at Sunderland. You have to have something missing not to. David Moyes evidently does. It helps him shamefacedly bounce back, but it's also going to be the cause of yet another downfall. Even Guardiola would phrase that level of self belief more circumspectly.

Or Real Sociedad... or Man Utd... or Everton as he didn’t win anything there.

Well yes. I was looking at the recent and considerably worst job he's done by far, tongue in check. 26 losses.

If he can get West Ham up to 7th or higher he could claw some credibility back. With or without Moyes they should be mid-table or safety.

David Moyes, the gift that keeps on giving

I'm not usually one for bashing Moyes, he gets enough stick. But I have to say he deserves some shite after these comments. You'd swear it was the end of the season and he'd successfully guided WH to a top half finish.

What a mug.

Reading about him versus Bilic.

One comment in Moyes's favour was getting Arnautovic to change from being a winger and becoming a striker.

Somehow though it is working just now don't think that will be the striking option nearer the end of the season.

hilarious... he says he can the job at any club in the world. Demented oaf

You and your gf's brother need to reassess your life buddy.

he's right. He can take the job at any club in the world if its offered to him. Holding that job is a different matter altogether.

Thought I'd have a laugh and have a read of all the hate and vitriol being spewed out about Moyes as usual
He's got off to a good start at West Ham and still the hatred pours out at him , imagine what it would have been like if he had a bad start !!
leave the guy alone for gods sake , he was the wrong choice for us I agree but what did you expect him to do turn the job down !!

Why would people who dislike Moyes and aren't West Ham fans, dislike him less for getting off to a half decent start at West Ham?

Everyone blames him for that 1st awful transfer window when we also had a brand new and inexperienced chief executive who went chasing impossible targets before panicking at the last minute and paying over the odds for Fellaini who by the way was the stick that we beat Moyes with the most remember everyone hated him , useless donkey a disgrace that Moyes brought this useless lump to the club ! ( is that the same useless buy that has been deemed irreplaceable by our current manager ? ) maybe Moyes was right about him !
I hope he keeps west ham up for gods sake he was manchester United's manager personally chosen by the great Sir Alex , leave him in peace

Again some people seem to completely misunderstand how transfers at united work. He wan't managing Real Madrid at United the manager picks which players to sign. Moyes picked the impossible targets not Woodward. Moyes wanted Fellaini but didn't want to sign him first. That whole shambles of a transfer window was 90% (if not more) down to Moyes lack of preparation, unrealistic targets, lack of back up targets, dithering and the crazy idea of wanting to sign players in a particular order.

I understand David wanting to show his critics and also rebuild his reputation with fighting words, but it can't be nice for West Ham fans to hear him imply that - like Sunderland - their club is apparently a mere stepping-stone.

If you wanted to sign Gareth Bale and Fellaini which would you aim to sign 1st world star Bale who if signed would make every other major target sit up and take notice thinking wow they've got Bale I want to go there
Or .... fellaini who would make every other world star say ho hum so that's the level they are looking for I'm not going there !
Makes absolute sense to target the world star first and yes I agree the manager sets the targets and which united manager wouldn't target the best ?
But it's the chief exec who gets the deal done ... or not .
The hatred of Moyes blinkers so many people from the absolute truth of the situation .
If bale is an impossible target why do we try and sign him every 6 months whoever the manager is

It's so easy to dislike Moyes. He's full of himself and so smug. When he wins it's all his doing ,and when he loses it's someone elses fault. Can't fecking stand people like him.

I think he's a really really good laugh, maybe not intentionally. But I love that there's some funny characters running clubs who give great interviews. May it continue.
