David Moyes | Everton Manager

His win % at Everton is 35 compared to 38 for Amorim so far at Utd... He managed 53% nearly in the Utd job, ETH managed 55%, doesn't look so bad now...

He's an excellent manager but wasn't the right choice for us.

He seems to constantly update his tactical knowledge with his back 4 transitioning to a back 3 in possession now.

I'd like to see him win a trophy with Everton and then ride off into the sunset.

Maybe a domestic cup or a European trophy.

Perception and PR is a huge thing for managers. Sometimes it's more important than actual ability.

Why do you think Vincent Kompany got the Bayern job after getting relegated with Burnley? It's because he's viewed as a progressive modern manager. His stubborn dogmatic insistence on playing a certain way got Burnley relegated.

Sean Dyche who took Burnley to the Europa was never even considered by a big club. That is because he's seen as a dinosaur playing prehistoric football even though he excelled at his job at Burnley.

I'm not saying style of play doesn't matter. It does but without Kompany's status as a great footballer who played under Pep, he never gets considered for the Bayern job after what he did at Burnley. On the other hand, if Dyche was a famous footballer and a marketable name, he'd definitely be considered by big clubs after his Burnley stint.

Kompany had a top squad in the Championship and smashed it. Bayern don't care much about what you do with a relegation fodder squad, they care about what you can get out of top squads. They entrusted Kompany with the job, but keep in mind that he was about their 10th choice as no one wanted to join them.

Since Moyes has come in they've drawn a lot of games they should have won. So they deserved that good win against Nottingham Forest.

When Moyes came to united it was a poisoned chalice. No manager was the right manager.

Well the type of football required for a lower team to stay up, or push for Europa is very different to the type of football to be the best.

The bolded is bullshit by the way. As shown by the 3 teams promoted this season who are guaranteed to go back down at the end of this season, the odds are against you to survive promotion, however you play. Plenty managers have been relegated playing hoof it la football.
