David Moyes | Everton Manager

Moyes is 125 games away from Wenger's record of most PL games managed.

Quite an achievement to reach that.
Only 3.3 seasons away. He's 61.

I thought so too, had to check. Ferguson retired in 2013, Wenger managed until 2018.
More importantly Ferguson started before the PL was founded. So in total he managed United in more games than Wenger did Arsenal.

Can't find information on most games managed in English top flight division.
Fergie would be ahead of Wenger but might not be first overall.

Thank you, I thought I was having a stroke for a second there

Sometimes it might make sense to separate between the PL and the English top division, but this is not one of those cases.

Surely Ferguson holds that record?

Fergie only managed 21 seasons in the Premier League. That may sound like a lot, but as depressing as it is for us older guys, there have been 24 seasons since the year 2000.

Moyes would probably have beaten it by now if he didn't have a season in La Liga, and a few on the sidelines inbetween rescuing West Ham from themselves

Thanks for the replies. Good to hear that Garner's back in action and doing well.

Interesting that Beto and O'Brien have been fundamental as well. Just strange that Dyche hadn't worked out how to use them - I guess he was feeling as demoralised and stale as the team. Not that I'm pleased about the news. United have enough problems without meeting a team that's just added extra height to the starting lineup.

Here is a pretty good video at explaining it. I think it's less that Dyche hadn't worked out how to use them and more that Dyche has very rigid principles that he doesn't really shake from in terms of having flat banks of 4.

David Moyes named manager of the month. He now has as many Premier league Manager of the Month awards as Pep Guardiola (11) and one more than Klopp (10)

Moyes is a far better manager than Dyche. We might still get relegated but Dyche was walking us into it and was indifferent about it. Would turn up each week not trying to win games and just coasting through it at the end. Moyes is quite clearly fuming at how shite we are currently.

:(

You have to admire Dyche for refusing to compromise on his philosophy though

Manage couple more seasons in PL and he'll have managed most PL games in history, going above Wenger and Ferguson. Only 62 so who knows how long he could be around as Fergie retired at 71, Wenger at 68 and then there's managers like Hodgson and Raneiri taking jobs in their 70s.

He's the ultimate mid table manager isn't he?

Very difficult to be a manager in the premier league. Most managers cant cope and deal with it. He has proven for years he can get results in this league. He shouldnt be jugded soley by his stint with his, nobody can manages us anymore

He's only 61? Blimey, being a footie manager is tough on folks isn't it. I'd have put him closer to 70.

His win % at Everton is 35 compared to 38 for Amorim so far at Utd... He managed 53% nearly in the Utd job, ETH managed 55%, doesn't look so bad now...
