Same old bollocks. We'll probably sign Alan Smith on a free
Same old? The last few years Fergie made it pretty clear from the start on that we wouldnt be signing someone else (no value, or happy with the squad)

It's becoming ridiculous that everything Fergie says is interpreted as him saying our business is done. FFS He says they are currently working on signings. What more does he need to say?
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed there could be more signings during the transfer window as the club continues to work behind the scenes in that area.
The United boss suggested in an exclusive interview with MUTV that Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell may not be the only arrivals this summer if his plans bear fruit. Despite intense media speculation, the Reds will continue to conduct any negotiations in private and it often proves to be a lengthy business.
When asked if he is hoping to make further additions, he replied: "Yes, there's a possibility. We’re working on one or two things but there’s nothing really to tell you to be honest.
"We always try to get our work done at the end of the season – we spent a good deal of time sorting the deal with Shinji and we’d agreed a deal with Nick Powell before the play-offs which was a good move by us because the boy had an outstanding final at Wembley.
"When you don’t get deals done immediately and you’re negotiating with a club over a long period, then you can’t expect to just snap your fingers and get it done."

With Park and possibly Berba leaving, I'm counting about 3 extra squad spots that will be up for grabs.
Lets face it lads the war chest just ain't big enough. It is the same feeling every summer, like you have just come home and found your wife in bed with a black man.
Last summer we spent £50 million - some people will never be satisfield. So how much would you like us to spend? £100 mil ? £200 mil ?
If Park and Berba leave and Fletch is included in the 25 man squad, we'll have 22 players over 21 (to be registered)With Park and possibly Berba leaving, I'm counting about 3 extra squad spots that will be up for grabs.

Even if Park and Berba dont leave and Fletch is included, we'll have 1 spot and can extend it to 2 temporarily by sending Amos out on loan (and keep De Gea, Lindegaard and promote Johnstone)
Had to look up who the feck Dias Correia, Tiago Manuel was. Thought we had a new signing...then realised it was Bebe
Will Bebe even be registered?
Surely another loan spell is more likely when he recovers from injury.
Has Almedia Da Cunha, Luis Carlos been brought in to replace Nani?
With Amos and Bebe likely to be loaned and Berba still likely to go (though that seems a little less likely as things stand) then we have more space than I expected.
How does the Champions League list look? Aren't the age requirements different so we have to register someone like Jones in the main squad?
That Goss guy and some nobody from the streets?
Says a lot about a club's transfer strategy when its scouts are sent to scour Lisbon's version of cardboard city for the next Ronaldo.
Bebe, almost certainly will be loaned again given his bad luck with injuries on the last loan. Amos and Berba stand a decent chance of not getting registered. Ando and Fletch also look to be in limbo. I can see us buying another two players.

Even so, some of these risks are more meaningful than others with particular attention being paid to the club’s admission that “our indebtedness could adversely affect our financial health and competitive position.” That’s hardly surprising, especially as the very fact that the club is launching an IPO to raise money to pay off indebtedness points to the debt being an issue, but it is in stark contrast to previous denials from the club’s hierarchy.
In particular, a year ago David Gill told a Commons committee on football governance that “debt doesn't impact what we do.” He added, “There has been no impact in terms of our transfers”, while the prospectus includes a specific risk that debt “could affect our ability to compete for players.”
Risks mentioned in prospectus is more of a disclaimer.
Everybody needs to learn that the risks part of the prospectus has no relevance.
Whats so confusing? Hernandez ousted him the season before, and last season Welbeck broke through and kept his place on merit. He just fell down the pecking order. That would be bizarre imo. Yes SAF may not want him, but to have a player on £100k a week, who may not be even registered beggars belief.
I would love to know what has happened there. From PL top scorer to being completely left out of the CL final squad the same year, to bit part player, to possibly complete non entity.
This is almost City-esque in it's absurdness. We would be pissing our pants if they got stuck with the likes of Adebayor or Santa Cruz, on huge wages, and a real chance of not being either sold or registered by the start of the season. Yet here we are with our very own example. Very, very confusing situation with Berba, and i hope it is resolved soon for the good of both parties.
Berbatov has achieved more than Danny hence the bigger wages! Danny has great potential but I'm sure if/when he fulfills it he will be on par with what berbatov is earning now!
Wouldn't this highlight MUFC's wage system, rather than that of football clubs in general?Really highlights the stupidity of the wage system in football. Berbatov isn't contributing to our current performances and gets paid 100k, whilst Welbeck has had a great season and has done a lot for us, yet we're risking losing him by not paying him even half of that.
Drama Queen.I think it may be more to do with what Hernandez is earning than what Berba is on. £70k for Hernandez while Welbeck is on £15k.
feck me haven't we lost enough youngsters already? We surely can't risk losing Welbeck. Just pay him the wages of a first team player at Utd, which is what he now surely has to be regarded as.
