It's becoming ridiculous that everything Fergie says is interpreted as him saying our business is done. FFS He says they are currently working on signings. What more does he need to say?
In contrast to last year year after we signed DDG, Young & Jones, and the year before when we signed Hernandez and Smalling, when he said "We're done", people seemed to think it was just a ploy and we weren't actually done at all!

With Park and possibly Berba leaving, I'm counting about 3 extra squad spots that will be up for grabs.

I was clearly not being serious! I actually don't care if we don't sign another player. I would like to see Nick Powell and Petrucci get a good run of games this season.That said, the war chest has clearly not been big enough to land quite a few targets in recent years.

Even if Park and Berba dont leave and Fletch is included, we'll have 1 spot and can extend it to 2 temporarily by sending Amos out on loan (and keep De Gea, Lindegaard and promote Johnstone)

Yeah. I'm not 100% sure on the CL list but I think Jones would be the only one needed to be added to that. Possibly Macheda too.

Bebe, almost certainly will be loaned again given his bad luck with injuries on the last loan. Amos and Berba stand a decent chance of not getting registered. Ando and Fletch also look to be in limbo. I can see us buying another two players.
That would be bizarre imo. Yes SAF may not want him, but to have a player on £100k a week, who may not be even registered beggars belief.
I would love to know what has happened there. From PL top scorer to being completely left out of the CL final squad the same year, to bit part player, to possibly complete non entity.
This is almost City-esque in it's absurdness. We would be pissing our pants if they got stuck with the likes of Adebayor or Santa Cruz, on huge wages, and a real chance of not being either sold or registered by the start of the season. Yet here we are with our very own example. Very, very confusing situation with Berba, and i hope it is resolved soon for the good of both parties.

Risks mentioned in prospectus is more of a disclaimer.
Everybody needs to learn that the risks part of the prospectus has no relevance.

?? I agree its included for full disclosure so as to minimise any possibilty of future legal action from shareholders but to say it has no relevance is wide of the mark. Some of the risks are more relevant than others.
Whats so confusing? Hernandez ousted him the season before, and last season Welbeck broke through and kept his place on merit. He just fell down the pecking order.
Really highlights the stupidity of the wage system in football. Berbatov isn't contributing to our current performances and gets paid 100k, whilst Welbeck has had a great season and has done a lot for us, yet we're risking losing him by not paying him even half of that.
Berbatov has achieved more than Danny hence the bigger wages! Danny has great potential but I'm sure if/when he fulfills it he will be on par with what berbatov is earning now!
I think it may be more to do with what Hernandez is earning than what Berba is on. £70k for Hernandez while Welbeck is on £15k.
feck me haven't we lost enough youngsters already? We surely can't risk losing Welbeck. Just pay him the wages of a first team player at Utd, which is what he now surely has to be regarded as.
Wouldn't this highlight MUFC's wage system, rather than that of football clubs in general?

Cmon now. He's on the last year of the contract he signed as a kid. He was 17yrs old then. He'l be getting a new improved contract just like we gave ones to Hernandez and Smalling. We dont feck our players over regarding contracts. You just have to prove yourself first rather than wanting a fat payload based on potential..
In this case, but there are overpaid players all over the place not putting in the effort / contributing to their 'employing organisations' performance
