Let me get this straight.
We put in an offer for Hazard. He had the choice to pick between 3 of England's biggest and wealthiest clubs. He chose Chelsea. Apparently, this means we cannot compete. Apparently it's all the Glazers fault.
Does it ever embarrass anyone how much it always comes back to the owners? "Uncle Malc didn't give me my favourite rattle, how on earth am I going to survive with all these other equally expensive toys." It's a privilege watching Manchester United and supporting Manchester United. There are loads of gifted players we've lost out on in the past, yet everyone seems to think United pre-Glazers was nirvana for everyone of the world's top footballers. Batistuta, Shearer, Gascoigne and many, many more that we were probably in for but never signed, therefore never knew about.
Amazingly, every footballer in the world doesn't wake up in the morning and swear his undying dedication to Manchester United. Surprisingly there are many elite clubs that he would be attracted to, and United does not and never has sat on the top of the pile for many foreign players. We're a big name, we're respected, but history isn't the only thing that attracts a player. If it did, many more would be willing to take the trip down the M42 to those who are still wallowing in the memory of their "glory days."
Grown men crying over the fact that we may not have budged from a 120k per week offer to a 150k week per offer, or spent 5 million paying off his agent. It's farcical but unfortunately there's a breed of United fans who think supporting them is the equivalent of being born with a silver spoon and demanding everything their hearts' desire. This isn't a fantasy world, this is real life - United lost out, just like people lose out in their everyday worlds. Now, stop throwing a hissy fit and man up - it'll do a world of good.
