He is already much improved on claiming crosses, he will improve on corners in time.

Once he bulks up a bit and gets better on crosses and corners he's going to be the best in the world.

Excellent saves, excellent performance. He will make mistakes that may costs us points, but he shows he's capable of saving points for us as well.

Even better at diving than Suarez.

At the time it happened I was more impressed with the Kuyt one because it was from such close range.

But I need to see them both again before I can really form an opinion. Both were top class though, no question about that.

Still lacks presence at corners but he's a wonderful young keeper with great maturity. Giggsy got a bit of a bollocking off him after the goal and I was impressed by that. I just wish he'd get a little more credit from the media.

Some are. The gutter rags will take a little more time.

And De Gea looks as if he's starting to enjoy the pinball intensity of the English game. Or at least live with it!

And also time to praise the contribution of Man Utd keeper David de Gea. Excellent today. bbcfootball

Dave was fantastic today, really like him. Probably been the best 'keeper in the league this season yet before every match one of the pundit's topic of discussion will be about how vulnerable he is and his shaky start for another few months yet.

The media are utter cnuts. The he's shaky bollocks literally comes from his first two games of the season only, since then he's been top drawer. Apparently two mistakes in two games followed by 6 consistent games in a row means you're shite.

As if he was horrible before.

It's quite shameful. I dont understand how they look for the tiniest things yet when other keepers make similar mistakes, it's easily overlooked. It's a boring story and I dont see why it's so tantalizing as before. People would have lapped it up before but after a performance like today what can you really say?

I just dont get it.

There's zero awareness in the uk meda of how good he was in Spain. He's basically starting from scratch in England and has to build a reputation for himself. It'll take time, but he's well on his way.

Theres close to zero awareness in the UK sports media on most subjects, if we're being honest.

Sky's reaction to Aguero's debut against Swansea just summed up how myopic and parochial they are.

"A STAR IS BORN!!!"

that basically sums up their hysteria over aguero. While most of us have already known about the boy. It's ridiculous to me but I mean guess it can happen with anyone. Some of our own supporters haven heard of him til now. That post regarding sky saying a star is born is quite cringeworthy. To me, it suggests that people are desperate to see more talent in this league.

Some quality players have left the league now and I know some people did wonder how the quality of the league itself would come up again. Now it seems that it's improving once again and any new talent that attributes to that will get more attention. Hence the new flavor in town is City.

I agree about De Gea just never really saw it that way. It makes sense though because some of our fans were shitting bricks after his first couple of games.

Worst username in the history of the internet.

So how many times has he saved us in recent matches eh?

Save from Ramires
Save from Henderson, Kuyt and Suarez
Saves from Crouch and Whitehead and many more vs Stoke
Penalty save from RvP when the score was still 1-0

I'm sure there are some others as well. He's becoming a very important and consistent player for us now.
