Will only get better, once his simple mistakes are gone with more United training sessions he will be one of the best GKs in the world, no doubt about that.

Who's blaming Evra? He can't mark 2 players. Someone else was out of position there.

It is his main fault. His clearance was awful in the first place and he failed to get back to position after his clearance. Almost three players went to close down Ramsey I think and he played a nice ball to Walcott.

He should have saved that shot imo. It looks to me that he is taken by surprise by shots from slightly far out and from angles. It's as if he does not expect players to be shooting from the positions they are in.

Seen the replay and I have to agree with this.

VDS at his early years before joining Untied was known to concede goals repeatedly through his legs . it's difficult for tall guys especially when Walcott's shot was from that close range

feck all he could do with that one.

This. He's being judged far too harshly, though you'd expect it. Edwin has conceded such goals. The keeper has little to no time to react. In fact, when keepers save those sorts of shots, the ball normally hits them more than they move to meet them. Mostly luck.

World-class save in the second half, big moment in the match that. I thought he was fantastic today, little he could have done for the first goal and nothing for their second.

good performance from de gea today. the penalty save will be great for his confidence. love to see the players rushing to congratulate him for the save as well. he should be feeling right at home now.

All keepers concede goals like that. Just one of those things that it happened to De Gea today.

Made a couple of excellent saves too.

Edwin conceded the same goals.

Personally I'm no longer nervous about De Gea after the last two matches.

His kicking and comfort on the ball is faultless. And he is CALM, perhaps too calm when it comes to the soft goals we'd like him to have gotten closer to. But he exudes composure, and he's starting to bed in.

Nope, whether he is going to measure up to VDS and Schmeichel I don't know, but this is definitely not a Massimo Taibi.

He's very composed. I'd like to see some fire in him though like lambasting defenders occasionally. Probably the language barrier there to be fair.

Good performance today. Nothing he could do about either goal. Penalty save was a bit pf a turning point and made a terrific double save shortly after (which wasn't replayed, annoyingly enough)

agreed

also thought his save off of the RvP volley was more difficult than it looked. I was very pleased with his performance and is getting some unnecessary stick for a well-taken goal by walcott.

As i said in the match thread he wont be the only goalkeeper this season to be beaten by a shot like that in the same position and SKY were just mischielf making in trying to still paint him as a weak keeper in some areas. All goalkeepers will make the odd error now and then but with his age, where he is right now they are going to nitpick every little perceived mistake or weakness in his game just because of the club he plays for.

He had another solid game today making some great saves when needed, seems to be also getting used to everyone in front of him in his defence and he can only keep getting better the further the season goes on.

It was good to see our players celebrating with de Gea his penalty save.

The lads were so happy he proved something.

I thought the first goal was complacency

I did too, I've seen many a keeper beaten by a shot through the legs, the lad can't be criticised for every little thing.

He did very well today, and the penalty save plus the reaction of the crowd and our lads after it will have done him the world of good.

Keepers concede goals like Walcott scored all the time.

Hate that ChesneyArsePIG didn't get anywhere near the criticism for our first goal. Should have plucked that Anderson chip out of the air.

I am very happy with his performance except for the first goal. He could have done better. But I don't think I really care now.

Displayed some great character - peno save and his reactionary save against RVP in the second half will surely shut people up for another week.

Showed some class tonight, well done David, you'll be a star.
