Think plenty of people have obviously said that the Chelsea save was the turning point for him, so thats just confirmation from him more then anything. It does seem like he's a real confidence player though, if things go wrong and the fans start to turn on him again, it could be bad for the lad.

Hopefully such a thing won't happen of course!
Well, at this age, that is to be expected but as we go along i'm sure things going wrong wont affect him much, if at all.

Of course, but he's not going to grow-up over night! He'll probably be the same for a few years yet.. as he's still very young. He will make a mistake at some point, I just hope people don't turn on him for it, as obviously he need encouragement.

I'd say it's rotation more than mistakes that's had an effect on him. Whenever he's been rotated out of the team he comes back looking like his confidence has been shot, whereas after a mistake he generally recovers well both in that game and the next.

He's a very confident young man. Even if he does make a mistake he doesn't seem to let it effect him. He's fantastic, he really is.

Delighted for him, as there was no denying his talents. Shows his self belief and determination too. Mistakes happen as he, along with all keepers/players, are only human. It is about how you come back from that and progress.

7 months ago I said at the end of the season, he will have turned the corner and saved our asses more times than he cost us points.

It was clear that he will make mistakes, it was more a question how he responds to that. And tbf, that has been brilliant, shows that Fergie does not just buy talent, but also strong characters.

I love this picture of the Chelsea save, reminds me of Scmikes.

So Casillas, Valdes are 30, Reina is 29... The poor fecker will never get a game for Spain

Valdes is overrated. Reina is sometimes inconsistent. If De Gea can just remain consistent for the year or two, it will only be a matter of time before he gets a chance.

Yeah, I'd imagine he'd be number two behind Cassilas before too long.

I'm not so sure on that. Casillas will be around for a while yet, but if he peaks early and starts to decline, while De Gea hits his prime, then I think he'll be able to more than compete with Reina and Valdes for that no.1 spot. Anyway, it's probably a blessing for us. It's better for him not to be jetting off for international duty a lot. The less players we have in that situation the better.

christ, didnt realise Casillas is 30 now!!! Still think of him as a young player, which makes no sense really seen as he's been in the game for what seems like eternity!!!

Thing is, as a goalkeeper he's still probably got another 5-10 years in him as well!

He'll be considered better then Reina and Valdes by the end of his 3rd season at United and pushing Iker for the Spain jersey. The boys natural talent is outstanding.

Is argue he has been better than at least Reina and Valdes over the past four months.

I'd be inclined to agree on Reina as he's been a bit shit, and Valdes is an accident waiting to happen, but most don't agree he's better then them yet. It'll take a while before he's there, but I've not doubt he'll be the best Spanish keeper sooner rather than later.

I'd say that he wouldn't have been the potential number 2 so soon if Reina was still playing at his best, but to say he's had a poor season is an understatement. He's actually escaped a lot of criticism from the media, however he's been very poor and hardly received any criticism at the start of the season compared to DDG.

I feel he should have save at least 2 goals we conceded last night, given his shot stopping ability.

He didn't really do too much wrong yesterday in my opinion. He wasn't great at all, but it was the defence who we have to really blame when I look at it.

He almost saved the Fellaini shot, which would have been an outrageous save had he kept it out. The header was completely unexpected and I don't think any keepers would have managed to stop that. The other 2, nah no chance.
