MVG 1-0 down v Hendo. Fully expect him to win the next 2

Klaasen V Chizzy no result would be a surprise in that game

Wow Big John beats MVG, goes to show the 1st round of the Grand Prix is the most unpredictable round in darts.
Legs won MVG 7-6 Hendo

What's happening with MVG I know he's human and all the rest but that's the Winter Gardens then beaten on the BBC and now the Grand Prix. Those are the standards he has set himself especially last year was just phenomenal every tournament he more or less won. You are right though Grand Prix is so unpredictable, never forget the year I backed Thornton to win @ 50/1 and he beat MVG in the final. Wonder where the e.w value is this week as there aren't many players that are firing on all cylinders.

Tbf, MVG won every TV tournament bar one last year, so only way was down. It is unpredictable as you say, which is why it's one of the best tournys.
Shame about Wade, but great Rally from Whitlock. feck me he's developed a gut.

With the Prem League dates announced who do you think the lucky 10 will be?

Would Barney be in with a shout? At some stage would love to see Corey Cadby as he's a cracking prospect. I'd say your list though is more than likely be the picks. Is it announced at the Ally Pally in Dec?

Would pretty much agree, but with Gurney/Smith maybe vying with say Huybrechts or Thornton, depending on how they finish the year, eg Thornton winning the Grand Prix or one or both having a strong run in the worlds.

Do many of you guys play the game?

I grew up with a dartboard in my room and spent many a fine evening in the pub playing. I'm thinking of taking it up again although there is a fraction of the number of pub teams out there than there used to be.

Board and darts are ordered. Currently practicing my throwing action :D

I play pub league darts on Tuesday’s.

Gurney you’re only in the semi’s mate

Only got to watch the semis which were good value, the final however didn't live up to much had it recorded as I was away yesterday.

Yep, European Championship starts Thursday, then the Grand Slam, Wold series finals and the Players Championship
Damn just saw European is on ITV4 now. Sport overload tonight.

The World Series starts tonight,
Dobey V Mensur
Cadby V Klaasen
Stevenson V Dekker
Smith V Van Der Bergh

Not seen tonight's action, but Cadby and Whitlock are toast.

The Ando-van Peer game this arvo was a weird one. That kid's dartitis was tough t9 watch. Ando a gent for encouraging him.

Went with my heart when I picked Cadby over Durrant,
Whitlock got too angry vs Van Peer with his dartitis, had enough darts to win, and again vs Menzies lost it with his antics, had he just concentrated on his own game, played the way he has been for the past few months would have won.
Hughes is out, he’s been utter crap

Smith v Mensur was a cracker

Cross V MVG the best GSOD group game I have ever seen

Yep agree about Whitlock and ditto Mensur-Smith was great, but Cross-MVG was another level. Shame he couldn't close it out, but kind of good the match went the distance.
Come on Barney!

fecking get in! Nothing better than a bit of Barney class. He looked gone, awesome darts.

Yep, Taylor, MVG and RVB all came from 4-2 down to win
Yep, the knockout stages should be great. MVG looks bang on it and back to prove a point. No evidence tonight, but a lot of rumours about how long he can last with his back problems.

Wow, van Peer-Menzies was a strange, emotional match. Not sure I've seen a match quite like it, particularly that last leg.

So happy for Van Peer, Menzies played the occasion rather than the board (understandably so), bit like Cadby he’s changed himself way too much for this tournament and it has effected his darts.

surprised Van Peers dartitis only effects his 1st dart, my mum has it and I know someone else who plays darts that has it and it effects all 3 darts, granted nowhere near the ability of Van Peer.

Will the real Corey Cadby please stand up, much more like the Cadby I love

Wayne Mardle , (Cadby 90 Left) “he will go T20” Cadby T18 D18

All three darts? Jeez, must be torture to play. God knows how you shake it off. Was a tough one for Menzies, plus both so inexperienced on TV stage.

:lol:Mardle banging on about Durrant's finger 'injury' too. Hard to warm to Durrant, he reminds me of Edward Woodward's police sergeant in The Wicker Man.

I loved John Parts comment about Durrant’s finger injury, I’m struggling to take this conversation seriously

:lol:Part is one of the best pundits in any sport out there.
This last game is an odd one- Mitchell offers to suck off Bunting and let him through with him. Wouldn't want to watch it live on TV though.

What do you mean, it be tons of fun Vomits

Been much better than day 1 late games where 6/8 were 5-1, looks like 6/8 will be 5-4 unless Bunting can get his act together

Has been a decent tournament so far. That guy who beat Chizzy was erratic but could hammer the 180s.

No idea on the draw for the KO phase. Assume final is on Sunday?
