Darts

That's right think it starts tomorrow, outdoor arena and the flights of the darts taking their own course, not to mention the heat. Peter Wright constantly changes his darts even more so with this event been outdoors. Anyway Relfy leave us know how you get on, atmosphere and all the rest. Just out of interest are you living, working or what in that part of the world?
Is it on tv anywhere?

It was, not many people can win 8/10 legs vs MVG, Anderson was 5-3 down came back to win 11-7
Yeah saw both averaged 110, so sounded pretty good. Love peak Ando. Might see if I can find it on the ITV app.

Reminder always good fare the World Cup of darts Sky Sports from tomorrow.

Always a good tournament and difficult to pick a winner. It will be interesting to see how England get on with their new look team of Lewis and Chisnall. Scotland and Netherlands teams pick themselves but there are other dark horses too, the Huybrechts brothers get well pumped up for it.

It certainly will be a different world to the BDO World Trophy which has taken place recently in Wales! It was on Frontrunner Sports (me neither) and the BDO Youtube channel. There were probably 30 people in the room watching it, when I put Youtube on to watch the final there were less than 1,000 watching with me. Frontrunner had given up by this point because there was a power cut and they evacuated everyone . Peter Machin won it for anyone who remotely cares.

Meant to say Thursday it starts but yes will be interesting to see the England team without Taylor and Chizzy played very well in the latter stages of the Premier League. The Huybrechts crew will be well up for it and might be worth an each way punt. Hope to see the Gary Anderson that showed up in Dubai against MVG he was brilliant.

How come Taylot isn't playing? Assumed he would, given it's his last year.

Guess because Lewis and Chizzy are 1 & 2 (English) in the OOM
Keep forgetting how far Phil's slipped since he started playing less. No idea if the selectors have discretion either.
Crazy day today.

Kim just went 1 better 121.97
Christ, must be close to the record? Short format obviously. I forgot to record the final and am on a train to Stratford-upon-Avon with the in-laws:(

Yes, had he hit D18 with his 1st dart he would have got the world record

Another great tournament from the PDC. I expect it to become much more competitive over the next few years as the sport grows. The likes of England, Netherlands, Scotland & Wales will always be strong teams but there were some great stories in the tournament provided by other nations. Germany seem to have the basis of a great team in a few years (although some of their success can possibly be put down to home advantage), Belgium for as long as they keep the brothers together will always go deep. I've never been a big Barney fan but well done to the Netherlands on wrestling the Cup from England.

Shanghai Masters QF's, Semis and Final tonight and an announcement as regards seeding for World Tour. ITV 4 @ 9 p.m or the river of streams.

Las Vegas masters tonight ITV 4 . MVG won in Shanghai but Taylor was 5-0 up and 6-2 up but lost 8-7. Looking forward to tonight though, no messing when the best 8 show up.

Who's in the last four, MVG aside, I presume?

Might be 3 players in the field or won't it more then once as
Larry Buttler
Taylor
Lloyd
MVG
Wade
Evison
Rod Harrington
Have all won it

Ah yeah- so just MVG, Taylor and Wade in the field this year. Larry Butler is a blast from the past!

Fuming last night! Needed Huybrechts to win to complete a treble and at 3-0 up it was looking good. He's looked good this last few months so thought I would look past his poor Blackpool record, especially as Alan Norris has one equally as bad.
But he let Norris get under his skin far too easily and threw it away. Looking forward to the last ever Blackpool meeting of RvB and Taylor in round 2.
MvG starts his campaign tonight against Stephen Bunting, a game he should win comfortably but I won't predict the other matches given what's happened so far!

I missed the Huybrechts match- was too knackered to stay up. Was it a tetchy one?

To a certain extent, and only because Huybrechts let it become so. He was cruising at 3-0 but then from nowhere Norris hit these 3 monster finishes including one to break back and ended up winning 7 legs in a row. His celebrations were a bit OTT and you could tell Huybrechts didn't like it, plus when he wanted to compose himself between darts, he was taking really exaggerated steps backwards, almost colliding with Huybrechts! I think a lot of darts is won and lost in the head, the best players generally will be the ones that don't let others affect them.

I love some of the pettiness on the oche. Agree about Huybrechts- the likes of Taylor and MVG will always win the mind games battle with him.

That blonde lass who does the post-match interviews is fit.

As an aside, Whitlock looked good.

Gurney super chin but also super darts.
Still pissed he knocked out Ando, but Gurney has been playing some fantastic darts tbf- Wright looked good when he had that late surge last night too. All set up for an MVG procession it feels though.

Amazing performance by Taylor, was definitely a throwback to the old Taylor who would run through you and not give you a sniff. TBE, no argument.
